This album is somewhat of a retrospective for me, as a journey through my most meaningful musical and poetic creations from (more or less) the past decade. In another sense, it's new! It includes some music and poetry I've never before released, and an entirely new mode of expression for me - that of dulcimer music, poetry, and electric soundscapes overlaid as one. In this, the playful and skillful creativity of Marty Gottlieb-Hollis , who produced and mixed this album, was invaluable! Many thanks to them. 

This represents a story of growth in my adult life, a story of becoming more connected to myself and this amazing expansive world we're all a part of. You'll find notes of my journeys with all kinds of love, the beauty of connection to nature, self acceptance and discovering my own kind of trans journey. They'll be thunder and lightening bugs, rocky pitfalls and steady mountain climbing, thrashing winds and sunny summer mornings. I offer it to the world as a kind of prayer of gratitude and healing.

Purple Haze

Mika Romano (she/they) is a Philly based hammered dulcimer player, visual artist, and dabbler in poetry. She plays originals and songs of others in many stylings - rock, folk, indie, classical, ambient; and above all creates music with healing and connection at the forefront of intention. She has been dulcimating in eclectic iterations in solo and group projects for many moons. Her dulcimer music is wild, versatile, and healing as the soundscapes our lives traverse! Hope you enjoy!
