It's that time of year again! Floorless Festival returns in a months time, celebrating 5 years in the dance and in the lead up, we'll be sharing some mixes from previous Floorless events as well as new recordings from their lineup. 

First up we have Floorless resident INGI sharing a recording from his set at Ormside Projects earlier this year, playing alongside AliA, Charms and Cam Joon.

Held in a field a couple of hours away from London, Floorless Festival is an intimate, DIY offering, hosted by a close knit of friends. Through their line-ups they aim to spotlight artists who are shining in their local scene and championing those around them - something that Floorless themselves do very well. This year's billing includes EMA, Sha Ru, FAFF, Katiusha, Honeydrip, Ailish, Jerrau and more.

For our 12th edition of the CoziMix series we welcome queen of it all, basic chanel @basicchanel ! Chanel is a core member & lover in the electronic music scene venturing through the UK & beyond, leaving her mark wherever she goes. Not only is she a talented dj but also is the creator of platforms @untitled909 & Dawn Creatives and Wavdotworld... Chanel blesses us with her work ethic & passion for our scene pushing the boundaries and offering artists a space to showcase their talents. This year has proven Chanel is just as bold a dj as she is behind the scenes with shows at Corsica & Floorless festival this year :)
We are very excited to have her curate this beautifully crafted, transcendent mix filled with low end frequencies, deep based rhythms & percussive drums.


1. How and why did you get into producing / dj’ing?
I got into DJing through the nature of my job. I’m constantly digging and listening to new music, sharing it via Untitled 909 or just on my channels and this led to me starting a radio residency. I don’t know why exactly but putting myself out there as a DJ and learning to mix always terrified me. It wasn’t until last year that I pulled my first DJ mix together thanks to Bake who invited me on his Rinse FM show and shortly after that I was booked at Corsica Studios for my second DJ gig. 

2. Who, What/where was your most coziest gig you've been to or experienced and why?
One in very recent memory was the second edition of playbody in February. They host a very special ambient afters and I played the first one. During the three hours set, every time I looked up, everyone in the room was curled up into snuggle puddles, either deep in conversation or all loved up. It was so beautiful to witness this dreamy wind down moment after a very special party.

3. Do you consider yourself an introvert or extrovert in the scene?
My friends will tell you that I’m an extrovert but I definitely feel more like an introvert - I spend a lot of time on my own. My job relies on me being an extrovert so it’s very hard to balance sometimes and I’ll often disappear from my friends in order to recharge my batteries (sorry!) 

4. If you had to choose 1 track to vibe out too forever, what would it be?
Theo Parrish - Solitary Flight. This track makes me so emotional every time I hear it. 

5. What is your routine when preparing for a gig / production/writing session? Do you have any special remedies/ mental/physical prep/ places to go to? :)
I’ve only played two gigs so far but in the lead up to both of them I was over prepping my playlist and practicing whenever I could. Spending time with friends leading up to the gig to help distract my mind and doing some form of exercise, faves being running and yoga.

Launched over a year ago, kinetic is a platform to spotlight those who are emerging and to bring their creativity to life. A platform with no restrictions, breaking the boundaries of what something should be, which is an approach Dj wiggles has throughout all of her work. Leaning more towards the low-end, trippy frequencies, Dj wiggles is one to watch!
