As most of you know, we are launching a new powermix series called "Neurofunk Series".

The main objective of this series is to highlight artists passionate about a common musical genre: drum and bass, and more specifically neurofunk.

The project promises equality between artists, whether known or emerging.
This is a fundamental value of our approach.

As for it, the second season will take a more dynamic turn, with back2backs exclusively.

This is the Neurofunk Series project.

Mick Tanner is a Belgian DJ who's been into Drum and Bass since 2007. He’s from Seneffe and has shared the stage with big names like Machine Code, Hypoxia, Heist, Turno, A.M.C, Gydra, Upgrade, Logan D, Cause 4 Concern, and Merikan. Over the years, he’s played at loads of events and festivals like Chill 2 Chill, Bx Vibes, Boot Camp, Tour de Samme, Bad Station, Get Mad, Collines Électroniques, Balaise, Finger in the Noise, and Urban Renewal in Paris.

NEUROFUNK SERIES - MICK TANNER

In this episode, I’m joined by one of the true godfathers of the scene. Bryan Gee is a tastemaker, a culture shaper, a killer DJ, and someone whose ear for talent helped define what drum and bass sounds like today.

He’s also the co-founder of the iconic label V Recordings, alongside Jumping Jack Frost, a legendary imprint that helped launch the careers of artists like Roni Size, Krust, and DJ Die, and still, to this day, releases some of the best music the scene has to offer.

In this conversation, we go deep on Bryan’s life, his career, and why his love for music is just as strong now as it was when he first started.

I need to make a little clarification. This set is inspired by the talents of man like General Malice (Rest easy my homie 1981-2024). Clint had a way of pushing you to your outer limits of what you were comfortable in producing/mixing. Music only evolves if you allow it to *Clint Harley Ward….. So how do you push the boundaries of this Jungle/DnB thing of ours? And the answer was, to use whatever inspires you. Clint may have been born in the northern United States, but this dude was nothing but West Coast driven. Los Angeles was his blood and territory. As I matured in my personal sound, I could never help but be inspired by the General’s outlook on jungle/ragga-jungle. So this is my personal take from all the years I was blessed in spending with General Malice. I hope you enjoy this jungle mix as much as Molly and I did curating this tribute. It wouldn’t be a G Malice set without ending on a soundboy killa dubplate from the man himself…
