Years ago, Igor attended Love Family Park, where Marco Carola played the original version of Plastikman’s "Ethnik" along with another record. The melody stuck in his head, and he knew he had the track, but Shazam didn't exist back then, and it was hard to find. Later, he found it in his record collection on a Plastikman record.

A few years later, in 2012, he created this clubby rework with his Ultrasone’s partner Vernon Bara to dance under the sun. Captivated by the Japanese drums Ricardo Villalobos used in the Fabric 36 compilation, he decided to use them as well, respecting the sound of the original. That summer, he met Richie Hawtin in Playa d'en Bossa in Ibiza at a Next Wave party organized by Tina Bavdek, Valentino Kanzyani, and Ricardo Quiroz. He told Richie that he had made a rework of the track, and Richie was curiously interested in listening to the more clubby version of "Ethnik." So, he asked Igor to send it to him.

It was too late to include it on a remix album for Richie, but he loved it, so he gave them the go-ahead to share it with the world.

Since then, Marco Carola has played it all over the world, from Music On at Amnesia to Sunwaves, and that rework hasn’t aged at all.

Plastikman - Ethnik (Igor Vicente & Vernon Bara Ultrasone's Dance Under The Sun Rework)

Two friends from the vibrant city of Ghent began their DJ journeys separately around 2000. Over time, their musical paths converged, leading them to unite their talents under the name Duplicat. Their sets offer a diverse range of sounds, spanning from house to techno.

As resident DJs, they spin vinyl at Charged Urgent.FM and have graced the decks at renowned venues such as Kompass, Decadance, Café D'Anvers, Charlatan, Roots Of Minimal, Circo Inferno, and Studio 80 (NL). They've also performed at prominent festivals including Free Your Mind (NL) and Into The Woods (NL).

Years later, after growing musically closer together, they decided to bring their skills together as Duplicat. Specialized in the Minimal House, Micro house scene. Spinning as residents the black gold called vinyl at Kompass and Charged Urgent.FM. Bringing you a wide variation from house to techno. Winners of the 2013 TWSTd dj-contest.
