OECUS Podcast #250 with LYRIC

LYRIC, comprised of both Lyza & Ericson, started their project in 2019. Both are inspired by the groove and have multiple releases showcasing their take on this sub-genre. Their sets are fast and catchy while maintaining a steady rhythm. They are members of the Berliner Selected Crew, which has its place in the Revier Südost and residents at Klub PAN in their former hometown Hannover.

We are very excited to present the 61st episode featuring an assortment of pounding grooves and intertwined old-school, 4x4 weapons from another member of the re:flect crew, Cutepartynurse!

"After roaming around on the dance floor for a while, I became more and more interested in dj'ing. I experienced many crazy moments in clubs when the DJ managed to drive the crowd crazy. Chasing and creating those moments is my passion, and even thinking of that gives me goosebumps. For this mix, I paid close attention to the track selection. Many tracks have vocals in them, and blending high-energy grooves with old-school sounds was also quite challenging. After preparing the playlist, I only recorded the mix once. It's not flawless, but very authentic. I hope you like it.

I'm also part of re:flect, a multidisciplinary music, art, and event collective based in Berlin. We launched the project in June after six months of preparation. We aim to counteract the strict separation of different artistic disciplines by breaking down any boundaries. We are open to collaboration. Currently, we are planning our first event. Hany also known as technoslave_69 is a Amsterdam based DJ who was born and raised Cairo, Egypt. Hany’s passion for the techno scene began when he first moved to Amsterdam 3 years ago and he then decided to pursue his passion for the scene musically and DJ. Hany describes his style as ‘club-oriented’ as his aim for all the sets that he puts out is to give the listener a sensation of being in the clubs again, on the dance-floor, and all sweaty. His sound consists of minimalistic details with driving baselines blending them with synths, percussions, and vocals creating a hybrid assuring to never losing the listeners attention.

Love, peace and unity – the famous words of a movement that very much attracted Rove Ranger as a child to electronic music. Listening to early Schranz and Techno back then, it is no wonder that the sound of Rove Ranger is defined by fast-paced percussions and high energy.
Starting out as a producer in late 2007, he extended his musical spectrum over the years from EBM and Industrial to the likes of modern Techno. Always striving in musical variation, he started Rove Ranger aside his previous projects in early 2019 by focusing on sounds who he admired back as a child. Rough, dirty and compromiseless rhythms coupled with hypnotic melodies are just a few words to describe his vision of techno, of which he makes no exception on as a music selector too.

For the first set of our podcast imprint, we’re pleased to welcome Alberto Tolo abord.

Alberto Tolo is an Italian DJ and producer from Padua born in 1990, since early 2000 he started making and play his music, in 2006 he released his first ep and he never stopped. In early 2010, Alberto released his first ep on a very big label such as SCI+TEC which was followed by a second one a few years later. After his experience on minimal techno, he decided to move into more raw sound with the first release on Kaiserdisco's label KD RAW, this release changed his vision of music forever and kicked off his personal journey on hypnotic techno releasing tracks on underground techno collectives such Different sounds, Reflekt and in his own signature ALT.
