We are super excited to present the 81st podcast featuring an hour of full-throttle grooves from Mikrotakt!

Sacha Treasure aka Mikrotakt is a London native who grew up in the deep forest of Sweden - This raw groove dealer has already released on the likes of Cantical Records, Catalog 01366, Trau-ma and the aforementioned DifferentSound. With more big releases planned for the rest of the year, there's no sign of slowing down.

From the age of 14 Sacha has been learning his way around DAWs and electronic music, experimenting with old school hip hop. Coming from a very musical background his family encouraged creativity - Learning many instruments throughout his childhood from violin to piano.

Sacha later fell in love with the underground rave scene and the sound of Techno. Since then he has gotten involved where he can and developed his sound.

Mikrotakt can be identified as raw, percussive and groovy. His hybrid sets deliver pounding rhythms full of energy.

One of the collectives of the Amsterdam underground that is slowly moving out the illegal rave scene while staying true to their core, this resident displays the more deeper side of the groovy domain. Next to the DJ work, he's also part of the Minimal Collective, that tries to blend the boundaries of music, visual and physical artistic styles. The dedication reflects the selection, so tune in.

Resident and organizer of the Spectrum evenings, Toscan Haas is distinguishes himself by his polyrhythmic approach of a techno that he produces with three to four tracks. His musical training as a drummer and his inspiration for artists such as Luke Slater have led him to conceive his sets as a clever mix of progressive tools that oscillate between energetic cadences, arcane harmonies, tribal sounds and badass grooves.

Going buckwild with the wiry drum sequences and off-piste breaksy rolls, Egotot treats us to a multi-strain blender of outré ghetto-tech moves, panel-beaten Birmingham offshoots and further future-facing, Detroit-derived hints of cosmic abstraction. Certainly not fixed on a genre, rather busting the usual suspects’ limitative frame of action to expand into eclectic hyperspace, this one’s inbound for imminent, quake-inducing impact.

Eclectic, creative, curious and involving, has a unique style which transmits passion and adrenaline, dreams and emotions. His sets are marked by the art of sound manipulation and style pollution, challenging standards and prejudices, playing wisely with technology and everything that enables him to change and produce music reworks. Antonio dosn t aim to classify his sound within precise boundaries, but its quite easy to perceive strong house roots with contemporary techno and deep inflections.

Kashpitzky joins for DifferentSound Podcast #185.

Growing up in Tel-Aviv, Kashpitzky was etching out his musical path as a guitar player in a metal-core band. At some point though, he traded amplifiers for drum machines and really turned on the heat. In order to complete a formal musical education in sound design, Kashpitzky relocated himself to Berlin and graduated from the SAE Institute. He is one of those DJs who you can’t clearly pigeonhole in terms of sound. Always changing, always banging, he has a track for every occasion, letting even extended sets never get boring. His unique definition of techno is perhaps best exemplified in his energetic, deep yet groovy productions, often combining broken beats with organic textures. In this regard, it is worth noting his release permanently on Shlomi Aber’s Be As One imprint, MindTrip, Olympian, and more established labels worldwide.
