This is what power sounds like. The pivotal release in DJ Freakuency's career and a massive evolutional step for him sonically as he traverses through his already world-renowned sound palette, re-defining his discipline of noise-based nuance, openly acknowledging "The city scene that started it all".

"Nightcrawler", the first track on the A-side, is a meticulously produced dancefloor banger that will soundtrack your next raving experience. "Junked-Up Kicks" brings the tonal quality to a more melodica-filled place with warm synth work, lush vocal-like pads and plenty of clean air, creating a clarity-filled cut.

"The Basement" defines what it means to find euphoria on the dancefloor. Look no further to seek out the ecstasy. On the flip, we have two heavy pumpers with "Blah, Blah Blah", an ode to the nights, people and conversations that shaped DJ Freakuency and "Waterford Boy", a hard-hitting floor-filler extravaganza.

An experienced academic, music tutor and DJ, Doug is no stranger to raw, powerful and well-produced techno, reworking the warm, soft and calm tones in “From The Flames” into a more frantic, fast-paced and harder direction.

Doug Cooney's remixes of DJ Freakuency's "Nightcrawler" and "The Basement" are electrifying and innovative, breathing new life into the originals with their captivating beats and dynamic energy. His twenty-plus years of talent shine through, making these tracks an unforgettable listening experience!

“The Mirror’s Edge“ plays with the idea of a mirror as a boundary between reality and the alternate versions of myself.

I think of it as a point of convergence, an edge of a mirror where reality and illusion blend. It’s a dividing line where I am reflected but also distorted into other versions of myself that exist only in the mirror. This second track is the tension of standing on that boundary: the magnetism of who I am versus who I could become.

Through contrasting sound effects and flute rhythms, I reveal these two worlds, trying to get myself into a hypnotic state. In this state, the line between the real and imagined versions of myself begins to dissolve.
