The story begins with a book! But not just any book. No, no, no, no, no! See, this book is mysterious, mythical, enchanted, magical, and full of cosmic energy! As purple as the heart-shaped herb, and as thick as the 5e D&D Player's handbook (2025 edition), this book emits a frequency that only the heir to the Siren lineage can hear. This is the book's way of calling out to the next Siren. Very similar to the calling of the Jumanji lineage, once the heir has been found, they will be drawn to the book. Like a moth to a flame. Washed up upon the beach of an unknown island, the book begins to emit its call. As a young lady, Sumina (Mina for short), is walking along the beach, she begins to hear faint whispers and a strange, yet familiar, chant, even though no one is around. As she followed this sound, the whispers and chanting grew louder, consuming all of Sumina's thoughts. After following this sound for what felt like forever, Sumina eventually finds the purple book, lying in the sand, waves barely washing under it. The sounds continued to grow louder and louder! Only to suddenly stop as soon as Mina picked up the book. Upon opening up the book, it appears that the book is blank, then suddenly words start to appear out of thin air onto the pages. At first, Sumina couldn't comprehend the mysterious writing, but then the book began to shape the letters into something she could understand. Now that she can read the writing, Mina learns that it's been 2500 years since the book has had an owner. And now that it has a new one, it begins to reveal its secrets. Beckoning the new Siren to read on.....

Austin native Somatoast returns with his second Gravitas album release, ‘Goop’, available now on all digital outlets. No stranger to the experimental and psychedelic realms of electronic music, Mark Rubin draws on IDM and glitch influences to provide a seven track sonic thrill ride full of visceral soundscapes and alluring melodies. Intricate sound design is his hallmark, and with finesse he effortlessly incorporates his refined palette into both dubby and downtempo frameworks.

‘Goop’ begins with “Nodus Tollens”, a smooth and laid back opener with heavy focus on ominous ambiance. The futuristic concoction “Obscurity Security” comes next, chock full of cosmic textures which perfectly set the tone for the entire album. Wonky and upbeat, “Polytricks” resets the pace before diving into the dreamy title track, a silky creation sure to send you adrift through the galaxy. “Spunning Song” builds on the celestial theme and injects velvety, groovy basslines for a funky and fluid finish. The last original offering on the album, “Robot Rain Drops”, is at times sensual and seductive, but the blissful flow is interrupted with upbeat sections peppered throughout. Wrapping up the release, remixing artist Zonra layers his abstract atmospheric style over the already sturdy foundation provided by Somatoast for his take on “Goop”.
