If you infused the word play of Biggie, the soul of James Brown, and the visual’s of Da Vinci, you’d have “Durt”. Durt is an artist, first and foremost. His lyrics paint a picture on the canvas of his listener’s minds. He was born in Akron, Ohio on May 21, and moved to Hopkins, South Carolina as an infant and at the age of 18, he moved to Atlanta. He showed artistic dimension at an early age, spending hours drawing and writing poetry. His poetry notebook he kept as a child was a source of inspiration for art and for music. His love of poetry and his passion for art allows him to visualize his music in “living color”. Durt considers himself more of an artist than a rapper with his lyrics painting a picture on canvas. He hopes to move his audience to paint a picture in their minds as they listen to the poetry he brings to life by setting it to music.
