After a couple of weeks away to have fun at our Amsterdam festival, we're back with a fresh new podcast. For this one we hand over to @melinaserser who joins us at Dekmantel Selectors in Croatia this week. A graduate of the legendary DJ Koolt's DJ school, Melina is a talented artist from the fertile Uruguayan scene. She has a passion for unearthing unknown gems for the worlds of downtempo, ethnic, jazz, funk and breakbeat and has played all over the world as a result.

Her selections here show Serser's mastery of the early-evening warm-up or late night lounge world. It's a place where lilting rhythms and all manner of melodies slowly unfurl and cast their hypnotic spell. The churning grooves are dubbed out and fleshy as all manner of details come and go - prog guitars, dark leads, trippy vocal whispers. In these hyperactive times of short attention spans, Serser provides perfectly slow-release pleasures.

Next up in the LDoR lab we have a back to back special from two fine selectors from the isle of Gibraltar. Catania and Durz are usually known for delving into darker sounds but for our latest edition of the pod they offer a very welcome insight into the groovier side of their record collections.

Catania has been throwing parties for over ten years and recently taken on a residency for the burgeoning brand, Creatures of the Night. Jamie has been making moves around the UK playing in Leeds, Manchester and most recently at Starlane in London. With releases out on Holding Hands, Chapiteau Records and Tho's Snakehips label and playing on line ups with the likes of Onur Ozer, Christian ab, Vass, Carrau and Oriana the future is looking bright. 

Durz is a record collector, resident and co-founder of Rotate in Gibraltar. Known on the local scene for dark breaks and obscure gems. If you haven't heard him before, check out some of his previous podcasts for Italian label LoFT (Land of First Trip) and Holding Hands.
