Dino Lenny returns to Crosstown Rebels with his latest single ‘I’ve Learned That’, accompanied by remixes  from Shadow Child and Jonathan Kaspar - plus his own take with Fed Conti. 

A regular on labels including Afterlife, Ellum, Innervisions, and Diynamic, London-based Italian-born DJ/producer  and Fine Human Records boss Dino Lenny’s solo and collaborative catalogue continues to grow as he features as  one of the most consistent names within the worlds of house and techno. Having released his first EP on the label  in 2019, he now returns to Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels for a second outing with the release of his  touching new single ‘I’ve Learned That’ - which is one of a collection of records dedicated to his daughter - with  remixes from Shadow Child, Jonathan Kaspar, and his own interpretation alongside Fed Conti. 

“My daughter Victoria is seven years old. Since she was born, I always felt I had to make sure she knew  about me straight away. You never know how much time you have. At first, I was going to write a diary  with all my thoughts and stuff like that. But if she’s a little bit like me, she’d probably pick up the book a  few times and leave it there. So I decided to transform my thoughts for her into songs. ‘I’ve Learned That’  is one of those.” - Dino Lenny. 

Shaped by emotive piano keys, blooming strings and refined drums, ‘I’ve Learned’ showcases a rich and  heartwarming production taking cues from dance music and beyond as the track’s uplifting and inspiring vocals  carry the production across nine minutes of delight. 

Beginning the transition towards more traditional electronic spheres, his remix alongside Fed Conti utilises vibrant  guitar licks and a luminous bassline to head into a late-night discovery of disco influences. Next, Shadow Child’s  ‘Classic Mix’ is a skippy house gem as bumping low-ends work amongst hazy chords, with Jonathan Kaspar’s  remix moving deeper via surging synths for a hypnotic and thrilling ride to close.

Underground mainstay Guy Gerber is back on his own Rumors label with new EP Leave It On. Across three tracks he showcases his famously emotive and melodic house sounds. 

Gerber has been a core part of the underground for years, headlining the world's most revered clubs and festivals, collaborating with P. Diddy, bringing all new party concepts to Ibiza, and serving up serene and synth heavy soundscapes that move people physically and emotionally on labels like Cocoon, Italians Do It Better and Rumors. 

This one kicks off with the lush deep house elegance of 'Leave It On' with its languid bass and live sounding drums. Swirling pads and atmospheric vocals bring a romantic feel to this late night jam. 'Leave Me' then picks up the pace with more percussive but still smooth grooves, this time doused in sweeping chords that bring sunshine and soul. 'Jupiter Blues' closes out with a cosmic exploration, the gently tinkling keys shining like stars as warm, rubbery drums carry you onwards and upwards.

Rising star Saraga arrives on Bedouin's Human By Default with ‘Santa Maria EP’ this June 

Tel Aviv-based Saraga has previously released on established labels such as Crosstown Rebels, Rumors Records, Robsoul Recordings and Nervous Records, picking up support from the likes of Marco Carola, The Martinez Brothers and Damian Lazarus amongst others. Now making moves as a DJ on the biggest stages, his latest release for Bedouin's Human By Default label sees the Israeli artist deliver a deep, sophisticated EP. 

'Santa Maria' opens up with meticulously crafted House beats rolling deep under enchanting string sounds and intoxicating vocals, making for an organic and fresh sound. The sunny 'Madame Paris' has lush flute and sax motifs floating over a chunky beat with seductive vocal mutterings drawing the listener under their spell. 

Saraga's accomplished production techniques again define the fluttering percussive loops of the grooving 'El Dorado'. Another vocal this time unfolds over the stripped-back but warm drums which become layered up with ever more synth tension. Finally, the brilliant 'Chambacú' is a steamy and tropical house with jumbled drums, hits and toms under yearning vocals and romantic trumpet hooks.

Australia-based duo Lunar Disco land on Crosstown Rebels with new single ‘Devil’s Hands’, remixed by house heavyweights Luciano and Anthony Middleton.

Comprised of DJ and composer Nicolas Blistene and his singer-songwriter partner Kate Elsworth, Lunar Disco rose through the Parisian house scene but are now based in Australia, producing music that fuses live vocals and rich electronic textures. They veer towards the deeper, more sensual and playful end of the spectrum, while Kate has also been in hot demand as a vocalist by the likes of Deep Dish and labels such as Mobilee. Building on releases via Blond:ish’s Abracadabra Music, Kindisch and their own Suck My Disco imprint, late July welcomes a debut appearance on Crosstown Rebels for the release of their latest single, ‘Devil’s Hands’.

‘Devil’s Hand’ is a low-slung and sleazy take on indie disco. The bass is rough, with wild guitar riffs adding an extra layer next to the swinging, macho disco drums, while Kate’s steamy vocal brings inviting human soul as psyched-out guitars add a spaghetti western-style energy. The track then comes as a ‘Dirty Club Mix’ by Lunar Disco and Rebellion signee TAYA., opting for a rubbery groove for the back room, with moody bass and electronic pulses taking it deep into the night. 

Swiss-Chilean minimal maestro, long-time cult underground hero, and Cadenza boss Luciano heads up the B-side as he draws on his Latin heritage to cook up intricate percussive grooves across his remix to lock in listeners. His drums are rolling but heavy, and the claps and hits are layered carefully into an infectious tangle that never lets up. As both one half of Audiofly and on his own, final remixer Anthony Middleton has been at the heart of the house scene for many years, featuring as a vital presence in Ibiza each summer. His remix is sparse, with cosmic synths sequences unfolding over elastic drums and bass. It’s subtle but emotionally intense, and will make for a perfect late-night trip.

Two accomplished house mainstays come together on Get Physical Music as James Curd joins forces with the legendary Osunlade for superb new single 'Chocolate Puddin'' while FNX Omar remixes.
James Curd came up as a DJ in Chicago and has gone on to become a mainstay of the scene. He is also credited with inventing G-Swing, a house sound infused with swing. He has run various labels over the years while releasing on some of the world's finest imprints and serving up his magical sets everywhere, from fabric in London to The Avalon in Los Angeles and The Arches in Glasgow. American Osunlade, meanwhile, has deep spiritual roots in Yoruba traditions that are also reflected in the name of his record label. He makes music with a rare spirituality, as proven once again here.

The superb 'Chocolate Puddin’' is silky smooth, deep and Afro-tinged house with gorgeous percussive melodies and soft shakers. It's full of soul and warmth with meaningful leads that bring plenty of uplifting emotions next to a bluesy vocal.

The remixer is Moroccan mainstay and label regular FNX Omar. He flips the track into something that is richly layered with percussion and nimble bass, organic hand claps and hypnotic drum lines that all sink you in deep.

This package is as delicious as its name suggests and will be followed by a second remix package early in 2024.
