Diving into a sonic exploration across the Purified spectrum, Purified Records presents its first edition of Purified Selections. Shining a light on up-and-coming talent, this 11-track compilation ebbs and flows across a diverse soundscape. Opening with a powerful, cinematic cut ‘Existence’ by NASTAVI and flowing into Chris Luno’s brooding ‘Another World’, the compilation is compelling from the get-go. Moving into a lofty dimension, Enigmatic ‘Fractal Dreams’ and Heard Right & Floa ‘Tokyo’ perfectly encapsulate the imprint’s essence. Moving in a slightly deeper direction, Initial Eyes ‘Like Pictures On A Screen’ and Namatjira’s ‘Katsu’ flaunt reverberating basslines juxtaposed with scintillating synths. Soaring into a mystical realm with Boy North ‘A.D.I.A.’, Callum Can’t Sleep ‘Wave Of Waters’, Enigmatic ‘Keralian Town’, and Boy North ‘Break Me’, listeners are transported into pure sonic bliss with soothing instrumental arrangements. Dropping the tempo, Callum Can’t Sleep’s ‘Andara’ draws Purified Selections to a close, allowing listeners to unwind and bask in the compilation’s aura.

Offering listeners a sonic escape across the Purified spectrum, Purified Records delivers a diverse 4-track VA EP. Easing into an uplifting soundscape, Montreal-based producer Joseph Crime’s ‘Dear Friends’ blooms with gentle piano melodies and samples, pushed along by subtle bassline. Moving into a poignant sonic environment, Andrey’s timeless creation ’The Deep Orchestra’ blends cinematic strings, dramatic percussion, and a deep house bassline. Moving into ’Universe’, Alex Blond teases the listener with staccato synths, before constructing a mesmerizing instrumental arrangement across a space-like atmosphere. Closing the EP with a club-ready cut, Lost Focus increases the energy levels with ‘Prelude’. Calling upon floor-filling synth stabs and a driving bassline, the vocal serves as a guiding light, which captivates the listener throughout its entirety.

Alex Blond (ITA) - Universe (Original Mix)

Selador boss man (job share) Steve Parry is turning 50. Hard to believe when you look at the man's effervescence and energy as he juggles Selador with regular high level gigs, his bespoke promo company SMP3, and of course his blossoming studio exploits.

A true solider of the scene, Steve has dedicated his adult life to club culture, and his abiding passion of discovering and sharing new music, be it from behind the counter at the legendary 3 Beat record store, behind the decks playing at the equally legendary Cream, and as both promoter and resident DJ at cult 00s night Alderaan (all in his home town of Liverpool).

He has long sourced tunes for some of the very biggest DJs (initially via vinyl packages sent from 3 Beat, but quickly adapting to a digital service), and SMP3 has worked with many key labels including Sudbeat, Bedrock, Lost and Found, Frau Blau and Renaissance. Steve's knowledge and enthusiasm remain undimmed.

The advent of Selador has also given Steve a natural home for his finely crafted productions (bar a couple of exceptions which John Digweed nabbed for Bedrock) - and to celebrate this big birthday milestone, we've invited three of Steve's favourite producers to remix three of his previous Seladorian gems.

303V remixed by Doc Martin

Talking of soldiers of the scene, Doc Martin, the much-loved globetrotting, genre straddling DJ, takes Steve's paean to the Liverpool club night, maintains the original's addictive squelchiness, while going for a hypnotically funky workout.

What You Make It remixed by Renato Cohen

Selador favourite Renato Cohen from Brazil keeps the peak time spirit of last year's What You Make It very much intact but adds his own inimitable twist to proceedings. Bass face!

Fenner remixed by Bebetta

Completing our titanic trio, Berlin's creative powerhouse Bebetta takes Steve's evergreen Fenner and wraps its inescapable vocal hook in a dreamy techno blanket. Gorgeous.
