Imagery is the musical collaboration between Cory Metzinger and Jordan Poling. While often compatible with the dancefloor, their project evokes synesthetic feelings and visualizations. This sonic meeting of their minds is rooted in their long friendship, fondness for exchanging studio techniques, and penchant for working with machines.

Individually, they are seasoned solo producers with releases on esteemed labels across diverse genres, and have had their music played out across the planet. Together as Imagery, they have prepared a fresh 10-track album listening experience for Dusk Notes.

Allen and Rondec join forces for Dusk Notes' eighth release. Stamping their aural alliance onto a floor-focused 6-track EP, these Northeastern artists assert their alchemy and range as a production duo. Allen's galactic techno has been showcased on Axis Records, M_REC LTD and Attic Music. Rondec is a new alias of Dusk Notes co-founder, Cory James.

For its ninth release, Dusk Notes invites 3 guest artists, each gifted and stylistically distinctive in their own right, to reinterpret tracks from Imagery’s self-titled album. Wide-ranging and divergent in genre, the compilation closes out with a remix from the label founders.

Homemade Weapons’ striking take on “Asymmetric Information'' features his signature audio sculptures of precise and militant choppage. Viels’ intricate rework of “Don’t Crush the Acid” is marked by commanding breakbeats and ominous ambience. Fred P’s version of “Don’t Crush the Acid” embarks on a jazzy groove with musing and yearning melodies. Soramimi and Rondec take us inward at eventide with a hushed and intoxicating montage of “Inner Sunset.”

Dusk Notes prepares its fifth release this November courtesy of co-founder Cory James entitled ‘Extension of Life’, accompanied by a remix from label partner Soramimi.

Founded in 2014, Dusk Notes is the brainchild of producers Soramimi and Cory James, showcasing deeper and more experimental spectrums of electronic music whilst aiming to cater to both the dancefloor and the introspective listener. With releases and collaborations on BEAR, Birdie and L.A.G, James has also performed at some of New York’s most revered and well-respected underground parties and clubs, including appearances at The Bunker, Output, Schimanski and Good Room. ‘Extension of Life’ is James’ second solo release on Dusk Notes and his third solo EP, following on from ‘Home Treatment’ in 2016 and ‘’The Narrows’ in 2017.

Fast, thudding kicks and twisted synths kick off proceedings in ‘Cubist Dance’ before title track ‘Extension of Life’ delivers an amalgamation of frenzied atmospherics and warped drones. Next up, ‘Life Itself’ utilises vacillating low ends and resonant synth blips that lead the way for crunchy spoken vocals, before Soramimi rounds out the package with her haunting interpretation of ‘Cubist Dance’, contrasting the original with dampened bass, ominous interferences and delayed, laser-like effects, bringing the enigmatic EP to a close.

New York imprint Dusk Notes return with four cuts from ASC, Imugem Orihasam and label bosses Soramimi and Cory James.

Since its inception in 2014, Dusk Notes have maintained their philosophy of pushing the more experimental spectrums of electronic music whilst accommodating to both the dancefloor and the introspective listener. The label founders invite the first guests onto the imprint including UK artist and Auxillary founder ASC and Japan’s Imugem Orihasam who together have releases on Semantica Records.

ASC’s ‘Barycentre’ begins proceedings with dubbed-out bass grooves fusing together with shimmering pads and twisted percussion to create a deeply, entrancing atmosphere. Next up, Imugem Orihasam’s ‘Anacasico’ is an effervescent dance track deploying delicate ambience, crunchy modulations and alleviating pads throughout.

On the flip, ‘The Lightworker’ by Soramimi delivers eccentric synth waves, haunting vocal samples and punchy low frequencies before Cory James rounds things off with ‘C61’ through laser shooting oscillations, otherworldly atmospheres and wavering drones floating above.
