There is nothing ordinary about Sepehr (@sepehr-a): he hails from the Bay Area of San Fran, is based in New York City but has Iranian heritage and takes great pleasure in pulling apart everything you think you know about dance music. His maverick approach results in versatile and genre-defiant sounds that collide EBM, drum & bass, techno, electro, acid and plenty more on some of the finest labels out there. He runs his own Shaytoon Records which is focussed on the Middle Eastern underground, and in May lands on our own Dekmanel Records with Genesis Domain, a varied EP full of intriguing sounds.

The same could be said of his mix for us this week. It's a deep dive into his eclectic and eccentric musical mind that spans several sounds and scenes. Although united by body-moving rhythms, there is everything from club to techno to broken beat and plenty more besides. Each track is packed with detail and surrealist sounds that will keep your head as busy as your heels.

Sarcus Soundsystem is a trio of French DJs including Ubik, Jacky Jeane and OLGA B. Together they founded the gorgeous and lush Sarcus Festival. As a DJ trio they cruise around dubby techno, tribal rhythm, drum 'n' bass, electro and UK sounds, the three of them emphasize deep and mystical atmospheres to make a journey out of the DJ set. I was absolutely enthralled by their performance at Sarcus Festival back in 2022 and have been hoping to have them on the mix series ever since. Finally, here is their 2 hour take over of Body Verse, Sarcus style.

I met the lovely Copehagen based Vika, @vika-cph at Kune Festival on an island off Copenhagen last year after I'd stumbled upon her set on the beach in the afternoon - playing dreamy half speed & soft dnb. 

As part of the core amazing Kune festival crew, she's an important member of the Copenhagen scene, and has a beautiful polyrhythmic, enchanting dj style of fast & slow, hard and soft. Very happy to host her in the series :)

For the last 7 years the Fast Forward Audio Series has been running, we have had the pleasure of presenting more than hundred different artists ranging with all from livesets, solo recordings and b2b sessions on it.
 It has been interesting to follow the journey of those artists from where they were then, and how their sound has evolved and influenced them and the scenes around.  

So for this 100th edition of the series we are very pleased to present yet another influential artist to you: TASHA

Tasha’s DJing style matches this textured background of her influences and has developed into a master-flow of form - weaving tunes together seamlessly from her bass informed home of the UK alongside four four techno forms born in Berlin and Detroit.  Her residency on Rinse FM Radio has been a backbone of Tasha’s approach as a DJ - expressing her appreciation for electronic music inviting guests in from all over the globe. 

 In 2016 Tasha launched the label Neighbourhood with Randomer, Cadans, Kamikaze Space Programme, Metrist and Forest Drive West all featuring to date, and the latest edition of the V/A compilation HIVE series has just released its third edition last month. 

In an industry where artists are asked to prioritise their art for social media presence, likes and other vacuous pursuits, Tasha is very much in demand for her ‘music first’ attitude, selection and ability.
A refreshing outlook and positive future awaits the DJ, producer, promoter and label owner.

From the heat of our first event, we are heading to our next artist: Living in London and certainly no stranger to the scene there, being a regular at places like Corsica Studios, Fabric and Cable she earned her place on the international stage and then in particular Berlin: Tresor, about blank & Griessmuehle all had the pleasure of witnessing her talent at parties like Herrensauna, Mechatronica X Cultivated Electronics & Slave to the Rave.

Also, be sure to check out her own Neighbourhood. which produces killer events and a few very nice records, but for now we'll let you to this vinyl-only techno mix.
