“Like others have said - this moment in time was really difficult being the first winter in the thick of the pandemic. Feeling like a never-ending vortex of bad news, isolation and despair, this event couldn’t have come at a more necessary time for me. Not having been able to express myself through music in such a long time and given this opportunity gave me a feeling of electricity. Decking out a living room with black netting and even carving a pumpkin with the IT logo, I wanted to actually be there mentally. 

Putting together this live set was a huge honor and task for me. IT parties have had such a huge impact on my sound as an artist, I felt an ecstatic amount of inspiration that had built up over the years and I wanted to capture the relationship of the midwest freak techno sound to my own and come up with a storyline of all the influences meshed together. At times it's simultaneously chaotic, scary, pretty, fun and psychedelic. Listening back this is definitely the soundtrack to the weird shit that plays in my mind all the time. Take a ride and enjoy, we’ll all be together soon.

 With our midweek moderator, we have a multi-talented artist on our hands. From music producer to esteemed radio host on both FBi Radio and triple j, label boss of her own imprint Pure Space, co-founder of events and artist agency NECTAR - she’s cemented herself as a leading force in the Australian music landscape. 

March 2019 saw the release of her debut EP ‘Eternal Recurrence’ on Lobster Theremin. Praised by Resident Advisor as ‘a confident blend of techno and electro’, the release forms the base for an exciting new chapter in Andy’s career. In 2020 she followed that up with ‘More Than Meets The Eye’ and. ‘Complex Clarity’ on X-Kalay and Lobster UNDR respectively, and she assures us that there are two more in the works which she hopes to release next year.

Andy continues to host Pure Space every week on the beloved community radio station, FBi Radio. With an ear finely tuned to the workings of the diverse local and international dance music community, Andy introduces some of the world’s most interesting electronic music to Sydney airwaves. In April 2019 Pure Space released its debut label offering, a four-track various artist 12” release.   

Off-air Andy continues to light the fire under packed club floors around Australia and is fast becoming one of the countries most in-demand DJs. Her latest European visit in February 2019 included a show at Concrete in Paris and London’s infamous Corsica Studios as well as radio appearances on both Red Light Radio and Rinse FM. While also hosting events with NECTAR inviting artists like Objekt, DJ Bus Replacement Service, object blue, and plenty more.

Number sixty presented by someone who I've watched in awe over the last year or so, as she continues to develop and blossom. Anyone who knows Clem ( @tangerine_tangerine ) would quickly think to her humility and talent, which make her Tangerine project so special. 

Clem has become known for cutting edge live electronic sets (& producing individual tracks) which span from ambient electronica to industrial techno, somehow in a deep, classy and seamless fashion. Not only this, but her DJ sets never fail to reveal a unique and exciting curation of dance floor songs and beyond. 

Beyond her own music, Clem is currently in the works of planning absorb (alongside Kavil @absorb-label ), an extended party at the incredible new miscellania club (18th Feb - save the date!)

Undeniably one of my biggest inspirations, the ever-talented @kondukukonduku presents a mix in his signature style, a unique soundscape of charming rhythms and melodies.

I've been a big fan of the Konduku ever since his debut album, Kiran, on @nousklaeraudio in 2018. Since then, Ruben has released an impressive and diverse catalogue on labels such as Spazio Disposable, Delsin & Idle Hands, often drawing on his Turkish heritage.

Beyond his incredible productions, Konduku is known for long, mind melting and crafty DJ sets & mixes. His closing set at De School for ADE in 2019 was one of my favourite DJ sets to date!

Vivian Koch (@kochvivian) has real range. For labels like Life And Death, a.r.t.less and AD 93 she has served up everything from IDM to moody breaks, ambient soundscapes to emotive techno. Her most recent album - last year's ominous but hopeful Beyond Contact - was fine proof of that from the Berlin-based artist who started DJing aged just 16. She has since mastered the art of making and playing club music thanks to her residency at Griessmuehle and her own Olympe party series.

She very much eases into this week with a superb ambient selection. It's broad in its remit, with the most beautiful and suspensory pieces bleeding into gently suggestive rhythms. The moods, too, range from mind-emptying bliss to passages of hopefulness and even romance. It's the sort of cathartic listen we all occasionally need to immerse ourselves in as a way of resetting.

As a region, Southeast Asia plays host to a colourful electronic music scene, rich with diverse sounds, landscapes and audiences. In recent years, cross-pollination and collaboration have become important facets of this scene, with inspiration and energy transmitting regularly between cities and crews. Central to many of these exchanges has been Bangkok-based DJ, producer and label-head @sunjuhargun, whose distinctive blend of vibrant, sophisticated psychedelia and the natural sounds of his surroundings have seen him grace stages in clubs, caves, forests, warehouses and castles across Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and onwards into Europe. 

His current project, @siamesetwinsrecords, also finds a solid foundation in pan-Asian connections. A platform to explore old-world chants and ceremonial percussion, the label hosts many of Sunju's own works, including Bollywood-inspired acid made as Mogambo and wildly meditative Thai temple drone music as Khun Fluff. 

Sunju’s Patterns of Perception 99 is a recording from a recent visit to Japan - more specifically from his appearance at a Transcendence party at Circus in Tokyo. 
Humming with psychedelic movement, this set finds Sunju channelling the intimacy of the venue to great effect, intuitively balancing nostalgic groove, sweaty exotica and cutting-edge trippiness. As we descend further into the mix, it's impossible to not feel a tightening of focus as spiralling energies shimmer and release. 

"Anything could happen, everything was possible, all is connected" 
- Sunju's perfectly apt before/during/after summation.
