This song goes out to all our peaceful warriors on the front lines at Standing Rock taking a stand for our waters and our lands and putting their bodies and hearts on the front lines for what's right. It breaks my heart to see my brothers and sisters arrested for standing up for what's right, but in the midst of this heartache miracles are happening. The tribes of great Indian nations are coming together from all over the country and standing side by side with people from all walks of life to speak on behalf of the earth, to protect clean water and to honor these precious lands. 
The world is watching. We are united. Stay strong beloved warriors. Our prayers are with you.

WATER IS LIFE

This year. Wow what a crazy time to be alive. There has been so much gun related violence in the media lately and so many awful acts of hatred it's been heart breaking. So much of these issues stem from pain and ignorance and fear. It seems like it's been one thing after another and I know some of us have been feeling like it's all a bad dream. I wrote this song the week of the Orlando shootings as a wake up call from all of these vicious crimes and tragic events. 

When these tragedies happen, some people grieve, some pray, but others take their energy to debates about how things issues should be solved and sometimes those conversations get too emotional and human decency and compassion gets swept up in the passionate perspectives so many of us have. 

So I wrote this song "Shots Fired" in a single night as an anthem for people to stand strong and forgive and to see through the illusions on all sides of this madness and focus towards the roots of these issues so that we can find the solutions that will bring us back towards harmony. 

We have a great opportunity and even greater responsibility to be unified. There are great powers of work here, some evil, some good, and it's up to us to choose where we align our energy. We need peace. We need unity. We need grace.

The purpose of my new song "Deep Breaths" is a call to action. To remember to breathe. To always do our best. To give everything we can for the people we love. To get back up and make amends when we fall down. And most importantly for us to think of the future generations:

To think of the children, and to do better for them.

When I sing those words, I think of all of the children around the world who are so full of hope, so full of life, and so full of potential, and how it is our job to not only protect them, but to be more loving to each other so as to set an example for them. We all model our lives after what we are taught. And I feel now more than ever the call to rise to the occasion.

So with that said the proceeds from this song will be going to Love and Freedom. I have spoken with the co-founder in depth and 100 percent of the proceeds will go directly to the children and their families to provide shelter and warm meals to those who need it most.
