sound system in mind. “Twelve Inch Jams” is offering you just that - strictly two A side tunes for the floor cut at 45 revolutions per minute. Jazz & Milk pays tribute to this classy release format with their new 12” vinyl series. Each record comes in a hand silk-screened printed and stamped sleeve!

The dream team of the highly successful first installment (JAMS001) teamed up again to share their love for raw and sample-based house music tunes
produced on the MPC. Label artist Sam Irl and the man behind Jazz & Milk,
Dusty never fail when it comes to layering colorful sample fragments and
enriching them with raw beats and deep synthesizer chords.

“Broken Spell” starts off with a super moody atmosphere that slowly opens up until it reaches its energetic peak with bright synth stabs and a smooth bassline before colorful arpeggios are drifting the track into other spheres. “Love Prelude” has a rather dreamy vibe but its deep chord progressions and rough bass drums and claps create a truly unique contrast and a hypnotic atmosphere on top of it, while a later incoming bouncy bassline and dubby sample parts eventually pull you in cosmic dimensions!

While on tour I had the pleasure of meeting the founder of Jazz & Milk when I played for his 11th anniversary party in lovely Munich. A great night with absolutely killer sound all the way through. The now famous E&S 400 mixer was added to an already more than capable house system for absolutely devastating results. Never heard disco that loud and clear in my life!

I already knew Dusty was a fan of fine tastes based on the music he produces and also choses to release on his fantastic Jazz & Milk imprint. What I didn’t know is the man is a fantastic DJ too. Great mixing and fantastic selections that take you down a sinuous road while staying on course for that 80’s Cosmic, Post-Disco vibes.

I love this mix and how it goes from obscure selections back to more classic songs (Maze, Wally Badarou).

After releasing two solo albums and a couple of other label releases such as the new Twelve Inch Jams series, Jazz & Milk founder Dusty took some time to explore new territories. While working on music with labelmate Sam Irl, he received an incentive to experiment with the sound and workflow of the MPC. As a result, Dusty came up with two House jams on which he channels old samples and analogue synths with a hint of progressive but yet very melodic acid basslines. 
“Don’t You Worry” introduces African rhythms with its percussive kalimba and conga patterns, warm synth chords and a groovy bass workout towards the end!

Munich Label Jazz & Milk have got 003 in their Twelve Inch Jams series coming up and its by the founder of the label himself, Dusty. Word is he's taken up the MPC to discover a new workflow and refresh his approach to music, with the end result being this cut of wonky acid disco.
“Brick” starts off on a disco tip, before it slowly dips & weaves into a muscular 303 bassline groove and then heads up into a brief relief of swinging deep chord bliss.

Listen back to the colorful Radio 80000 studio session with Dusty and special guest Tahira from São Paulo, Brazil who compiled the fantastic Afro-Brazil compilation "Levanta Poeira" on Dusty's Jazz & Milk imprint. Besides playing some tasteful tunes both chatted a bit about the compilation project and the history of afro-brazilian and indigenous music culture in Brazil.
Dusty played the first 45 minutes before Tahira took over the controls - interview starting around minute 56.

Several years after his successful debut album „Keep It Raw,“ Dusty hits home with this ecelectic 4 track EP which represents a foretaste of his second album „Mood Matters“. The Jazz&Milk label founder consistantly straddles the line between tradition and modernity and proves that an album need not simply commit itself to a genre or two; and in the process ups the ante considerably by featuring a broad spectrum of musical styles, bringing together Dusty’s favourite leanings such as Jazz, Funk, Soul, Afrobeat, Latin, percussive Beats and Deep House rhythms, while seeking a natural balance between accoustic, electronic and traditional sounds through the prism of a club-music oriented approach.

This fusion is brilliantly demonstrated on the title track „Mood Matters“ which meshes forward-driven house beats with organic instrumentation – a big Jazz banger for the dancefloor! „Danse Macabre“ features Dusty’s live band project „Bad Jazz Troupe“ taking you on a wild trip between massive horn sections, heavy beats and deep basslines. On the B-side you’ll find the strong Afro-Funk piece „Seventy Three“ with its sweeping horns, charming Afrobeat guitars and mighty drumbeats and let’s not forget the soulful beauty of „Longing Lingers“, featuring the heavenly voice of Carla Vallet ,as well as one of Munich’s most talented producers, Bartellow.

Catch the video for the title track „Mood Matters“. Paper drum- and tape machines are brought to life through elaborately generated stop-motion sequences which can also be found on the cover artwork - handmade and directed by the artist himself.

Once people start to refer to a music bar as a ‚second living room‘ or simply ‚home’ then you know that this can’t be an ordinary place to spend your after-work hours. Throughout the last decade Michaela Schembari and Uli Gansloser manifested their vision of a melting pot for open minded musicians and visual artists as well as a communication platform for creative people of all ages and different backgrounds. Right in the heart of Munich you will find that small bar called Corleone that never fails to create unity amongst the many and which quickly became an important instance in the city’s sub-culture.

As an act of solidarity during Covid-19, residents dj’s and friends of the bar joined forces and collected musical material to create „Corleone Dubs“ - an eclectic compilation series representing the colorful musical soul of the bar and its monthly program, ranging from soulful beats to house and heavy bass music.
