I had to decrease the treble (for 2 mins) in post-production. The confluence of two tracks amped the treble to an annoying level. It was best to cut it for a couple minutes than hurt your ears. Resumes normal levels after 2 mins.

I traveled to Miami (solo) to celebrate my birthday at Art Basel. Birthdays are a time for reflection. A time to consider your past, present, and future. The photo represents my "reflection" of the experiences I've created over the past 2-3 decades of my life and on dance floors around the world. 

A big part of who I am today is rooted in my experiences growing up in Saudi Arabia and Switzerland. During the trip, I was reminded of this part of my life when people asked about my past.  While in Arabia I learned the greeting- "Salaam Alaikum", which means "Peace be upon you" and it's one of the most beautiful greetings I can imagine. The world would be a better place if we truly wanted this for others. The people I met in Miami (from around the world) all greeted me with love and well wishes. I experienced "Salaam Alaikum". 

I returned home and felt compelled to record a set that represented my past, present, and future. It starts with melodic middle-eastern sounds and vocals and continues with other favorite progressive house tracks I love (including Atish, DAVI, Hraach, & Kora) 

My wish for you, as you enjoy this set is... "Peace be upon you".
Be at peace with your past, enjoy the present, and dare to dream of an amazing future.

It has been quite some time since the last time we gathered for a night of MBTS. I wanted to take some time after the pandemic to be quiet and see how the dance music scene would evolve, and what sounds would come out of the standstill that was Covid. Now that I have a good sense of where I want to be sonically, and what kind of energy I want to spread onto dance floors, I am ready to restart MBTS in 2023. The week was already perfect but I couldn't finish it in a better way than sharing this moment with all the ones in front of me. What an incredible experience... I hope it's gonna remind some of the people present this magical moment. And for the others that you can imagine the journey it was at the end of this dusty week drinking bubbles during the morning. Thanks for all the smiles and lovely souls I met before, during and after this set :D

After 8 years this is our last year bringing the Disco Knights camp back to Burning Man. I made this mix with the long drive to Burning Man in mind. Every year the drive up is a very interesting part of the journey for me… I think of it as the emotive start to the burn experience. This year in particular as it’s the last year we’re bringing our disco space ship to the playa. So the anticipation of all the memories of the last 8 years that I know are going to be flying through my mind made me want to play a set that I can rock during the drive through Tahoe hills. Not necessarily a mix of my favorite tracks played at the camp or even a representation of it, but more the feelings I’d like to remember looking back at the last 8 years.

I showed up with no expectations and was filled. It’s hard to explain Burning Man… so much energy and passion expended. Warming by the fireflies, laughing out loud, disco rollerskating, a kiss in the cloud.
