Astronaut- Something for Kate (insufficient cover)

Stigmas and riddles are rocking my head, 
I’m surrounded by papers, but I’m not that well read. 
Enigma please fly me up into the air, 
And out of this room of despair. 

Flashing red lights and those luminous blues, 
Fluorescences guide me by all kind of hues. 
And a birdseye view is better than watching the news; 
The focus is not so confused. 

But oh, the weight 
Between my shoulder blades is wearing me thin. 
And oh, how it aches, 
To be so uncomfortable in this skin. 

People like particles retract and connect, 
Trying to navigate pathways but none are correct. 
But the system will let me know what to expect, 
as long as I stay circumspect.

And oh, the wait, 
For the apocalypse is driven by sin.

To persistently twist this monotonous game. 

Militant soldiers out to serve and protect, 
Remind me it’s wise to have reality checks. 
I guess I’ll just sit tight and take some more meds, 
And dream of such freedom instead,

The blood from your inscription is dripping over, over me, 
While I figure out where the onus should be. 
I could listen 'cause you are older, much older than me, 
But your breath smells like apathy... 

So the martyrs and the thought police go gladly hand in hand, 
And it doesn't cost to be the boss that no-one comprehends. 
If they knew what went on in here, would circumstances stand? 
Could we still build little castles in the sand? 
Could we still build little castles in the sand? 

Is it appropriate to expect some sympathy? 
Is this situational company for misery? 
To the untrained eye, it's quite a quandary; 
if you look- but do not see...

If they knew what went on in here, would circumstances stand?

So now I sleep on shattered glass to keep it constant when apart 
From cutting edge- your power pledge- and those stimulating sharps! 
It's just my pain, it's just a start, it's justifiable at heart; 
Where little scars finally are the stuff of memories and art...
