The Terranova Records team proudly unveils its next chapter, one that has been eagerly anticipated within our creative circle. Hailing from Denmark, Azpecialguest emerges once again with a striking artistic statement — a three-track EP entitled: The Inevitable. More than just a collection of tracks, this release stands as a sonic manifesto, capturing the inexorable pull of fate through the lens of dark melodic techno. The title track, The Inevitable, opens the EP with commanding presence. A hypnotic rhythm forms its backbone, surrounded by immersive pads and intricate textures that grow layer by layer. It is an anthem of inevitability, a meditation on destiny that evolves into a sweeping crescendo. Take Off launches forward with unbridled force. From its first moment, the track seizes attention, driving forward on razor-sharp percussion and haunting synth lines. The tension builds relentlessly, pushing toward a climactic release that feels both cathartic and unstoppable. Closing the EP is Balam, a piece that ventures into the mystic. Its brooding basslines and evolving melodies conjure an atmosphere that is both shadowed and luminous, as if walking the line between light and dark. Drumcode returns with its 6th installment of the internationally celebrated A-Sides series. Renowned for fostering a shared space between industry tastemakers and rising talent alike, the careful curation that goes into each volume is a fine example of why Beyer’s brand continues to go from strength to strength.

Techno titan Adam Beyer has grown Drumcode into a force to be reckoned with; the label has become synonymous with forward-thinking, functional techno and even after 20 years, Drumcode continues to find new boundaries to push, and ways to solidify its legacy as the world’s number one techno label. 

2017 is no exception, with Beyer’s imprint hosting it’s first stage at Tomorrowland, not to mention the expansion of the critically acclaimed Junction 2 where the Drumcode stage is the centrepiece and Adam plays the key role of festival director. The Drumcode phenomenon continues to grow each week, chiefly fuelled by Drumcode Radio, Adam’s radio show that’s broadcast in 57 countries via 86 stations and to a global audience of 16 million techno fans per week. 

The A-Sides series acts as a perfect vignette of Drumcode’s cutting-edge sound; functional yet inspired techno, all tracks tried and tested by Beyer himself. Vol. 6 continues this tradition with a collection of 16 multi-faceted cuts from a mixture of both emerging artists and experienced label friends. 

The heart-throbbing bass in Amelie Lens’ electrifying piece ‘In Silence’ sets the tone for the dark and dance-floor-ready energy that Vol.6 carries the whole way through. Other standouts include Mars Bill’s rough’n’ready ‘Mohave’. Pulsating and precise, ‘Mohave’ has highlighted many of Beyer’s sets recently as has Wehbba’s monster track ‘Fake’, which fans have been anticipating the release of all year. 

Label-favourites Dense & Pika also feature on ‘A-Sides’ Vol. 6 with their hard-hitting ‘Just a Beat’ and a huge track from Beyer himself who has joined forces with Enrico Sangiuliano to bring us their undeniably infectious ‘Preset Heaven’. 

With many more notable selections from the likes of Julian Jewell, Timmo, Tiger Stripes and Pig&Dan, A-Sides Vol. 6 is another impressive addition to the label’s prolific release roster and a testament to why Drumcode remains at the forefront of the electronic world.

Asquith returns to his self-titled imprint following a couple of external EP announcements for Who's Susan and Private Persons.

Rave Til Dawn EP sees the London-based artist follow up the massive 'Let Me EP' with another clutch of takes on anthemic, big-room techno.

The title track Rave Til Dawn does everything a Let Me followup should do; huge compressed kicks, reverberating piano stabs and epic call-out vocals all collide on an absolute monster A-side. Second track 'Down' traces a more tool-y techno line. Rolling with the percussion and popping with mechanic energy. It's all compiled with elements of the original techno template shot through with a ton of UK bass weight.

‘Crush’ takes Asquith's manic monotone stab template into more techy territory, opening the production up and leading us into a cocoon of pressurised space. Stripped back but still crushing. Final track 'LCD Steppin'' sees us entering back into pacier territory that regularly pops up at the end of Asquith EPs. Shifting pad samples overlay a rickety jungle break and a voice calling at us to "Step!", before we're hoofed into the long grass with a 4/4 kick all the way up at 155bpm. It's not quite 160 but that's what the pitch slider is for ;)

“Der Sturm Kommt” is German for the "storm is coming“, and the name of Michael Klein’s new EP could apply as equally to the artist as to his music. In the past two years especially, Klein’s career trajectory has skyrocketed thanks to the ever-increasing quality of his output. His tracks have been hand-picked for compilations by Amelie Lens and Cocoon honcho Sven Väth while his productions are supported by big-hitters including Laurent Garnier, Dubfire and of course Pan-Pot, the owners of his home-label Second State.

On his latest EP, the storm is coming quite literally in form of three high-energy bangers that help establish Klein as one of techno’s most reliable party-starters. The title track recreates the mood of an actual storm, opening with grey squall before the heavens open in a downpour of android-like vocals, high-volume distortions, a relentless kick and a build and drop sure to blow up any club it’s played in. Rather than dial it back on Wasser (meaning water), Klein keeps the heat turned right up, deploying a snarling acidic bassline recalling the best of International Deejay Gigolo Records and adding his own stamp in the form of a characterful dog-like bark. German for “when you scream”, Wenn Du Schreist is, as its name suggests, the most ominous-sounding of the lot. There’s a dark energy to the production, with spooky treated vocals and rubbery synths creating a nefarious atmosphere. Importantly though, like everything on this EP, the track still bangs.

Der Sturm Kommt is another package of high-BPM floor-scorchers from one of the hottest names on the scene today. With every release, Klein just gets harder, better, faster and stronger.
