Medium tempo straight groove thing. Vocals always made me think a little bit like Bowie's stuff from the 90s, 2000s. Vocal takes are scratch but I don't mind them too much. When I'm adequately inspired I'll re-record them all.

I was careful to sort of suss out how far I could go with the chords and the Kafkaesque key changing within the boundaries of good taste. I then blew right fucking past that. Next thing I know it's done. Wrapped up just as inscrutably as it began.

I did not write this song, but I feel like I did some heavy lifting with the arrangement, because why play something that simple and beautiful as it is when you can batter it into something overwrought and needlessly bloated.
I don't know that. I have no idea why this happened.

The Monomyth

Dusty Richards was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, where he continues to play.  Educated at the Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences in Phoenix, AZ, and this was followed up by an internship with Larry Crane of Jackpot! Recording and Tape Op Magazine.  In the past several years, Dusty has sang and played with artists like David Evan, Alexander Tragedy (formally Painted Grey), Josh Polk, Anascara, AM Exchange, Kissing Girls, Jade Heights, Guitars As Guns, She’s Not Dead, Gordon Avenue, Echo Us and Johnny Outlaw & The Johnson Creek Stranglers, and has toured nationally.  In addition to performing, Dusty writes and produces music for film and TV and works as a private instructor.  Late 2012 Dusty joined the Portland-based quartet Swim Atlantic as a bassist and backup singer.  After a few months, however, his bandmates encouraged him to write and sing lead vocals on his own material.  Over the year, Dusty took more and more leadership responsibilities with the band and rediscovered his passion for writing and fronting a band.  In October 2013 he amicably split with Swim Atlantic to begin writing and performing under his own name..  Dusty can now be found performing across the Northwest, sometimes solo, but often backed by a crew of extraordinary musicians.
