The Breathing Wires

Dutch Decay is a guitarist, songwriter, + home-recording autodidact who has been playing in Sydney's Alternative/World/Experimental/d.i.y./ Wedding Music/Folk/Pop/Improv/Gypsy/You name it/ scene since 1989. He's been involved in a substantial number of diverse bands and musical projects during that time, currently playing with Free-Improvising group 'Forenzics' and the gypsy-punk influenced 'Waiting for Guinness' amongst others. He co-curated The 2010 Experimental music festival 'SoundsUnsound'. He has branched out into singing and using basic electronic beats recently, though only on recordings - He has not performed Live as Dutch Decay. Using a Boss br 1200 digital recording studio which he purchased in 2007, plus banjo, bass, guitar, voice, zoom drum machine, casio, shakers, drum, and other found sounds (radio, tape, digital cameras etc) DD plays it all and its Mid-fi D.I.Y. all the way - Imaginative realism, you get the picture? Dutch digs songs AND sounds. He has hours of strange recordings ranging from noisy / jazzy improvised guitar pieces to quirky multi-tracked outsider folk songs but man, that hard drive is sure filling up and the ideas just keep coming. But thats cool 'cos he seems to put something up on Bandcamp or Soundcloud every other week.
