A Little God In My Hands is the first track to be taken from Swans' forthcoming album 'To Be Kind' released on Mute on 12 May / 13 May on Young God Records (North America).

The album features several special guests: Little Annie, St. Vincent, Cold Specks and Bill Rieflin, the album was produced by Michael Gira, and recorded by John Congleton at Sonic Ranch, Texas. Further recordings and mixing were accomplished in Dallas, Texas. 

Swans are Michael Gira, Norman Westberg, Christoph Hahn, Phil Puleo, Thor Harris and Christopher Pravdica.

'To Be Kind' will be released on triple vinyl, double CD, download and 3 disc deluxe Edition (including a live DVD).

Rising UK electronica producer Max Cooper has announced his second remix EP for 2012, Reconstructions, to be launched at electronica night FIELDS at Electrowerkz, London July 13.

This marks the first time multi-million selling minimalist soundtrack composer Michael Nyman (The Piano; Gattaca; The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover) has allowed his work to be remixed. It will be released on Sasha’s imprint Last Night On Earth.

The Reconstructions EP comprises two Max Cooper reworks – one abstract, one dancefloor - plus the original of a sparse and emotional Nyman collaboration with songwriter and vocalist David McAlmont, Secrets, Accusations and Charges.	An animated video by regular Cooper collaborator Nick Cobby, filmed with a cast of 20 and an Xbox Kinect, will follow the release.

The original track is drawn from the Nyman / McAlmont 2011 album The Glare, taking Nyman’s theme from the film Gattaca and adding McAlmont’s lyrics inspired by a newspaper story about a quiet suburban Scottish woman who was discovered to be a jewel thief.

As the Gattaca theme is an orchestral piece, both the Deconstruction and Reconstruction are built from samples of only two soundfiles: a track of McAlmont’s voice, and a single track of The Michael Nyman Ensemble playing the Gattaca theme.

DEADBEAR is the moniker of Berlin-based producer and electronic musician Nick Donovan. Donovan began experimenting with electronic music as part of a university 'laptop orchestra' and later making interactive software including being commissioned to build an app for CERN's Large Hadron Collider.

After the release of 2017 album ‘​The Trees are Dancing​’, 2019 sees DEADBEAR set to release a new artistic project and record ‘​World Music Market’​. The release is a concept record tied wholly to Berlin, vinyl and the migration of people and music. All profits will be going directly to Refugees Welcome.

'​Black Sheep Is Meaty​’ ​after one of the Turkish folk songs sampled in the record, exemplifies the cultural and stylistic interweaving and collaging throughout the album placing Syrian percussion, Tibetan working songs and Turkish melodies side by side in an electronic music context. Donovan says, ‘​This track absolutely doesn’t work as a single, it’s in 7⁄8 time, it has no chorus or discernible centre and sounds insane due to all the stylistic elements and cultural anchors jostling for dominance but that’s the record - so in that way it’s actually perfect to introduce people to the album​’.
