We owe a lot of our musical influence to our boys Yanick & Zack from Bells & Whistles. Originally hailing from Switzerland & Russia and transplanted in San Diego, these were some of the first guys that really started turning us onto true underground dance music. They opened our eyes to a whole new world of music and for that we're forever thankful. The boys eventually moved to San Francisco for the music scene, but when we finally started DH we knew we wanted to bring them on board as Resident DJs and eventually Desert Hearts Records Artists. With an incredible Bells & Whistles EP coming soon on the label, we hope you enjoy this spacey trip through Friday night at our 2 Year Anniversary Festival.

Hello Desert Hearts Family!

We still can't believe our Spring Festival crept up on us so fast! Four months of preparation and working round the clock and it's finally upon us! This is the first time in the history of Desert Hearts that we will be returning to a location 2 times in a row and we can't tell you how excited we are for that. Despite our 2 Year Anniversary Festival being one of the most legendary parties of all time, we've had the chance to dial our Spring Festival to heights you wouldn't believe. You can expect more art, more love, and our best dance floor vibe yet. This is our 6th Desert Hearts Festival so we've really gotten the hang of it how to do it proper. This isn't just another meaningless party. This is about finding a new kind of freedom. This is about a place where you reach your mental breaking point and come to a realization that is meaningful at exactly the right place and exactly the right time. Desert Hearts is about coming together in love, collectively, individually, and spiritually. This is about the healing of land and souls. This is about touching heaven, even if only for just a few days. What we are doing is real. It's more real and more true than anything we've ever been privileged enough to be a part of. It's time to wake up into a dream world where real life is mystically blissful--to a place where we won't ever want to fall asleep because reality is finally better than our wildest dreams. This is the ethos of Desert Hearts. House, Techno, & Love... We Are All Desert Hearts.

Bells & Whistles - On The Road To Desert Hearts

Recorded live @ The Woogie Stage, Lightning In A Bottle 2015

"The Do Lab has always been a major source of inspiration for me in my adult life. My first transformational festival was Lightning In A Bottle 2011 and it completely changed my life. The festival had such a profound impact on me that I actually took my parents to LIB 2012 when I played The Woogie Stage for the first time. That weekend was a turning point in my life as it was the weekend I realized I had enough talent to DJ for a living if I went for it 100%. I felt so inspired that I went home, quit my job, and started my own 3 day festival and events production company, Desert Hearts, with my best friends and family.  In 2014, I was lucky enough that The Do Lab asked me to play their stage at Coachella, a super surreal experience for me since Coachella 2006 was the festival that kickstarted my intense passion for music. 

I consider myself very fortunate to have witnessed the growth of The Do Lab and Lightning In A Bottle first hand.  I can't even begin to tell you how insane it was playing LIB 2015. The first time I played The Woogie Stage in 2012, there was about 50 people on the dance floor when I started my set. I can tell you I got the biggest goosebumps of my life when I stepped up and saw over 1000 people in the crowd at The Woogie in 2012. 

I want to thank The Do Lab, Jesse Wright & Sammy Bliss from The Woogie, and everyone else who's believed in me as an artist and helped me grow. I didn't think Woogie Weekend was in the cards for me this year... and just like that I'm back to where it all started. "

In honor of releasing our 40th live mix from our Desert Hearts Festival, we couldn't be happier to share with you the most talked about set in the history of DH. Everything we knew about live House & Techno was completely blown away during this set as Rodriguez Jr. gave us the performance of a life time. Described by him as "One of the best parties he's ever played", the vibe was on another level, the music was through the roof, and his performance had everyone in a musical frenzy. We all had a feeling that Rodriguez Jr. was going to be the highlight of our Desert Hearts Spring Festival, but we had no idea that he was about to set the bar for every DJ & Performer at our festival moving forward.
