Vhyce made me. I admit I had my doubts bout God and Christ, heaven, miracles, resurrection and all that. But then my favorite Belgian sent through these tracks. Now I see the light, Vhyce is reborn and shines brighter than ever. 

Not saying that the music he put out before this heartbreaker of an EP isn’t dope, but all the tracks on ‚Fade’ are just divine. Reaching out to 90s house but looking into the future of that exact genre, he creates soulful dirty filthy hi hat and bassdriven music that opens hearts, forces smiles and moves bodies both vertical and horizontal. All 5 original productions do in fact play the rules and they should.

Normally, the term "sleazy" is something we try to have nothing to do with at Data Transmission (there's enough greasy-haired pick up "artists" in the world already thanks); however, when that word is applied to dance music, it takes on a meaning and a sound we simply can't resist.

Pushing a particularly sleazy aspect of house, is London newcomer Pistol Pete. Already creating quite a commotion through his 'Hey Papi' collaboration with De$ignated for Pilot Records, Pete has secured festival spots and even hit the studio with UK house star, Applebottom. 

For his second offering, Pete is in collab-mode once again, this time with fellow Londoner, Majesty. With an lively beat and that trademark "sleazy" low-end, the duo's track 'They Seem' has already been tearing up festivals all summer, showcasing Pete's talent ahead of his debut release, 50 Shades Of Pistol, in a few weeks time. ‘Please Be True’ marks Love & Other’s inaugural single of 2017 by calling on Glaswegian label associate Martyn Henderson aka Mash. Having previously released on labels like Southern Fried, Toolroom, Glasgow Underground and Dirt Crew, it’s an honor to welcome his return and in such fine style. Teaming up with prolific British icon Idris Elba, the duo have effortlessly hatched a beautifully balanced record that crosses ambience, melody and minimalism in a crescendo of pleasantries.
 
Setting off with a good-natured groove and sturdy drum design; ‘Please Be True’ weaves through the stages with whirring synthes, percussive blips and warm atmospheres. A richly heartfelt vocal performance from Idris Elba allows for a truly rounded piece that artfully portrays both lust and vulnerability. Performed in a manner that wholly reflects the temperament of its musical counterpart.  

On remix duty, UK’s finest DJ-connoisseur and beatsmith Sinden steps up to provide his club-fuelled interpretation. Flipping the vibe with squeaky-clean production and tightly tuned drums, Sinden creates a significantly warped bass-onslaught, with plenty of energy and wonk in the low end. Showing absolutely zero mercy in doing so.  WOLF Music’s Greymatter also provides his unique take on the original, in preparation for his third LP 'No Blood Without' in spring 2017. In an elegant melancholy of downtempo club sounds Greymatter provides lo-fi drums, chugging percussion and a healthy dose of tape fuzz, providing the perfectly visceral post-club soundtrack.
