BIO - Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Ross Hutchens aka Lonefront became established as a producer and live PA artist through regular performances at Intellephunk events in Minneapolis. Lonefront represents the cultivation of a deep mnemonic nod, ever-flickering between the speculative future of progress and the drone of decay. Following up the self-released Gradient Descent (2020), Lonefront is set to release on Dustin Zahn’s Enemy Records in 2021.

For my return to Open Ground, I had the idea to record my full set and post it online. Nothing can really describe that club, the sound system, the room accoustics, the way everything has been designed just breathes passion and dedication. Just amazing crew and always a treat to come back there.
The vibe there was absolutely amazing, and I guess you really just have to experience it on the spot to really get what it's like. 

But yea, here's the 3h30 journey we've embarked on there this 8th May, and I hope you enjoy it !

On May 30, Akua lit up Room 01 with a fierce blend of 90s-inspired techno, acid basslines, twisted bleeps, and relentless machinal funk. Sharing the lineup with VIL, Phara, and Marie-Julie, she carved out her own space, evoking Detroit and Midwest techno’s deconstructed roughness and the continuum of rave culture. Her set was a bold convergence of classic heritage and edgy futurism, and we're all for it.

Not yet a big name on today’s techno map, up-and-comer Erik Jabari is a producer and DJ you shall hear a lot more from in the coming years. Championing a sound both rugged to the core and honed to razor-sharp effect, the young Berlin-based artist is on a rising trajectory his recent 6-hour B2B set with living legend DJ Pete came to confirm in the most splendid way. Building upon an unmatched maturity behind the decks associated with a sixth sense for faultless track selections, Erik has been dishing out proper memorable vinyl-only sets with unfaltering flair and focus throughout the past few months, and his inaugural mix for RYC shall cement his position as a DJ and producer to keep a close eye on. Martin, aka Olima, is a longtime (internet) friend from Aarhus, Denmark - a connection born through the early internet web 2.0, nurtured through music. Known for his releases under various monikers around the world, Olima crafts soundscapes that blend warmth, depth, and atmosphere into a distinctive sonic identity.

Following his contribution to our VA compilation Coping Mechanisms (Electronic Meditation), Olima returns with a full EP that encapsulates his trademark style: immersive ambient layers intertwined with subtle deep house grooves, guiding the listener through an introspective and emotive journey.

On remix duties, Berlins Daniela La Luz delivers a speedy reinterpretation titled Run Fast - a driving housy cut built for the dancefloor, adding a fresh and dynamic contrast to the release.
