Dark Science Electro

2021 has unarguably been a great year for Electro both with overall visibility for the public as well as with the sheer number of quality releases being put out over the course of the year. With a newfound buzz surrounding my beloved genre, I'm hardly keeping up! I feel like It was a busy year both production-wise and promotion-wise for @DVSNME and @DarkScienceElectro respectively, however, I found some time to put together a mix of my favorite 21 tracks from 2021. This set is dedicated to one of the nicest guys I´ve ever met - a good guy, a good DJ, a good producer, a good friend, a good son, a good husband and a good father - simply a good man.

Unfortunately, destiny decided that he should leave us way too early. He died out of a sudden, completely unexpected on August 15, 2022. Would have liked to spend more time with him. He was sincere, genuine, very funny and unselfishly shared his experiences with others.  We shared a passion for music and had the same sense of humor.  I really miss him.

MachineFunk is a DJ and producer from Amsterdam. He started out doing illegal techno parties, and during that time got into Electro from the Detroit Techno side. 

He Started producing a few years ago and now explores, researches and produces raw stripped down machine funk.

Dirk Wiertz is a producer from the Netherlands, combining the best of both worlds working in Amsterdams finest record store Concerto, whilst making music & collecting records.

In March 2021 his track “Texel” was released on LBR records, followed by his debut EP “Grounded” on Cyber Domain Records which was released on cassette tape,.
His debut LP "Locked In Translation" was released in 2022 on DiffuseRealityRecords.
In 2023 "Future Events", a 12 track album saw the light on 8RGR8 records
and later that year he got featured on a 10” vinyl record on Intellitronic Bubble with his track “Acid Obsession” feat. Tamara van der Laarse.
In August of 2024 "Crossed Paths EP" saw the light on Athens' imprint Tiger Weeds, together with BITUM.
