Tygre Mixes

@djtygre is the alias of San Francisco-based Andreas Tagger. He started DJing in 1995 and was active in the underground rave scene of Philadelphia until around 2000 when he opted to take a long hiatus from DJing. After the break, he recently became inspired by the darker sounds of Electro and Techno and has since been producing mixes at a break-neck speed in the last year. He told me that this mix "is meant to evoke the qualities of vintage computing magazines, vocoded pinball speech, and breakdancing under foggy strobe lights." Enjoy!

Andreas, who ventured into DJing back in 1995, started his musical journey crafting mix tapes and spinning drum and bass in Philadelphia's underground rave scene. Originally from the south of Spain, but now based in London, Mara Mortem enjoys playing lesser-known tunes in a mix of languages within the Minimal Wave, Synthpunk, Cold & Dark wave, Old School EBM, Retrowave, Italo and Dark Electro genres.

Mara is a resident DJ and co-organiser of the Reformation Club in London. Reformation puts together monthly club nights as well as gigs with the mantra "Reforming yesterday's darkwave for tomorrow..." They showcase musicians in the underground music scene of the multiple weird waves.

𐕣𐕣𐕣𐕣𐕣𐕣

Inspired by the project’s name, "From Hell to Disco", she curated a set of dark yet high-energy songs. The mix begins with old-school Retro Wave sounds, transitions into modern Italo and Dark Disco, and culminates in tracks infused with elements of EBM, Synthwave, and Techno.

Today we are thrilled to share with you a live set recorded by arguably one of the most extraordinary producers from China - Noise&Noise, member of TEBP Music Organization in Japan. Since 2010, he has been active in the Electro scene worldwide and has released more than 15 albums, eps and V.A in USA, Japan, UK, France, Spain, Portugal and Belgium. The labels include Transient Force, Tokyo Electro Beat Park, Anti Gravity Device, Bass Agenda, ANTIZER0, Fundamental-Records, Les Disques Cockpit and more.​
The core of his works is futurism, with themes including post-humanism, space science fiction, near-future science fiction, quantum physics theory, and dystopian ideology. The aesthetic of music is mechanical, cold, paranoid, introverted. His synthesizer art is a mixture of fear, anxiety and ecstasy from the future world.

- Kraftwerk, Drexciya, Dopplereffekt, Chu Ishikawa(石川忠),Kenji Kawai(川井憲次) .But ultimately, you must return to yourself.
 
What new projects/releases with your participation are expected in the near future? 
- No plans yet.

Which artists/labels is more relevant to you now?
- Electronic music artist Yosuke Ikeda (AE35)  from Japan and his label ANTI GRAVITY DEVICE, there is more communication and interaction between us.
 
What inspires you now to create music?
- The mystery of the universe, dreams of alien invasion, the future of technology, the absurdity of life itself, and the struggle of political ideology. 

What set-up do you use when creating music?
- Different tracks require different synthesizers, and I don't care about analog or digital. I even prefer the coldness and hardness of digital synthesizers, they must be deep, abstract, mysterious, neurotic, and aggressive enough.

Gladio Operations' tenth release touches down with the third volume of the Split Machine Series, which bears the signatures of KafkaCtrl and UHF and marks the end of this electrifying trilogy.

Side A kicks off with "KafkaCtrl", where we discover cuts "Hashing Technic" and "XOR Calculator", which seem freshly extracted from a thriller, full of intriguing passages and wrapped in a delicate and assembled bassline. The French artist gifts us a last cut titled "Integer Corruption", where we distinguish a more rhythmic path impregnated with dark textures.

The owners of the UHF label resume their presence by taking charge of closing the EP with two powerful tracks. First off, "Floating Pimps" transports us to an absolute level of psychedelia, which we have already experienced in their past works, and a characteristic trademark of the Spanish duo. "The Threat Of Machines", which closes the EP, takes us into a state of extreme intensity, where UHF squeezes out a wild and incessant bassline from beginning to end.

Based out of San Francisco, California. Active in the Philadelphia rave scene 1997-2000.

Lover of electro, drum and bass, techno and music to get the g-bumpz. Enamored by cassette mixtape culture of 1990s raves.
