Kim Cosmik started as a DJ with Sprial Tribe and Bedlam, playing at festivals and clubs all over the U.K and Europe as well as the legendary Knowledge Club at S.W.1, London. She formed her own project, 'Void Records' with fellow band member Blaze and in partnership with Hotmix/Bunker records in Holland, and then Void was later signed to Matador EMI. Kim Cosmik is currently a resident at Threads Radio, Techno Club, and her own event Hybrid which she launched in 2019. Exactly one year after his 2021 release entitled 'The Electro Manifesto', DVS NME returns with a collection of new tracks that were produced between late 2021 and early 2022. This 25-track album is another thematic nod to class struggle with the hope to stir class consciousness in listeners. Every song title makes reference to some tenant of the destructive and unequal economic system called capitalism as well as its ever-looming shadow socialism. Even the album cover borrows inspiration from Soviet-era propaganda, re-adapting the artistic styles of many communist agitators.

This album, as with the last, relies heavily on the sounds of classic Electro machines like Mono/Poly, MS-20, SH-101, Jupiter-8, Juno-106, SH-2, System 100, Juno 60, JX-3P, TB-303, Polysix, TR-606, OB-8, TR-808, ARP Odyssey, as well as some contemporary additions to his studio like Hydrasynth, System 8, MC-101, Prophet Rev2, Novation Peak, Minilogue, SE-02, and Microkorg.

DVS NME is the man behind the weekly radio show/daily blog called 'Dark Science Electro' and has been a dedicated contributor to the Electro community for the last 11 years. Sync 24, or Phil to his mum, has been making sure proper electro stays relevant in the modern era for over a decade, with a string of personal releases stretching back to 2003. His own imprint, Cultivated Electronics, acts as a home for his own and other like minded projects, and its output proves that electro's stripped back and anarchic grooviness is as essential now as it has ever been. After getting into him via a stormer of an EP on Sheffield's CPU records, we had to check out his live set at the Electrix records showcase at Bloc and he certainly didn't disappoint- a cavalcade of clattering rhythms and chilly synth business was one of the highlights of the whole weekend. He brings his live show to our tiny wee venue for the night, and certainly won't disappoint.
