Bass Agenda 82: Interview & selections from ANTHONY ROTHER

Fran Hartnett https://soundcloud.com/fran-hartnett is an Irish techno DJ and producer who is the epitome of a proper underground techno act whether its playing with his hardware or with his records. He has supported some amazing acts including Surgeon earlier this year.

He also plays electro and has for many years, supporting the likes of DJ Stingray 313 in recent times.

Fran is a true legend in the Irish techno scene. Fran has been around since the late 90s. I know that because we used to frequent the same techno clubs back in the day in Dublin, where he was an up and coming DJ along with the likes of Sunil Sharpe. His alias at that time was Azrael.

When I ran my own techno night in Ireland back in the days, I had Fran down to play. The gig was 15 years ago - 25 Oct 2008 (I still have the poster!).

Fran's discography includes vinyl releases on Audio Assault, Plector, Ostcode Exile, USER Experience and RLSD.

He has prepared an excellent electro mix for WM. Play loud and enjoy!

Andreas a amorcé sa passion pour le DJing en 1995, initiant ainsi une aventure musicale qui l'a mené à créer des mixtapes et à se produire dans la scène underground drum and bass de Philadelphie de 1997 à 2000, sous le pseudonyme "Tygre". Inspiré par les sonorités plus sombres de l'électro, de la techno et de la drum and bass, Tygre fait un retour remarqué après une pause prolongée, désireux de partager à nouveau son amour pour la musique et l'art du mix. Actuellement installé à San Francisco, Andreas se consacre également à l'étude de l'informatique.

Il tisse avec habileté des paysages sonores électro envoûtants, parfaits pour accompagner les journées ensoleillées ou pour procurer des frissons intenses.

Andreas started djing in 1995, creating mix tapes and playing drum and bass in Philadelphia's underground rave scene from 1997 to 2000 under the moniker "Tygre." Inspired by the darker sounds of electro, techno and drum and bass Tygre returns from a long hiatus to share his love for the music and art of mixing. Andreas currently resides in San Francisco and studies computer science.

A slow burner of sublime electro blended to complement sunny days and getting the chills.

"DJ Fitz (SVQ), electronic music enthusiast, specialized in Electro, Breaks and some 4x4 beats. Lover of the vinyl format, he begins to take seriously the record collection in 2010, until today. Videographer of his own sets, with the intention of showing good music and the evolution of his skills behind the mixer; proof of this is in his YouTube channel where he hosts videosets of different genres varying the DJ setup.

Interested in analog production and flirting with synthesizer machines,
in May 2024 is published his first song in the compilation "Bass Andalus" of Urban Connection label.

Goia Amo is a visual artist, DJ and producer based in London.

She creates sonic landscapes that intertwine electro, breakbeat, and techno genres building realms, where dark and eerie motifs mingle with pulsating rhythms, evoking an experience that is both captivating and enigmatic. Despite delving into shadowy depths, Goia maintains an infectious funkiness, infusing her compositions with a groove that ensnares the senses.

She is the co-founder and visual art director of Buteka, a collective of women DJs based in London and Spectra, a party based in Rio de Janeiro.

This one is called 'Dread Gap' or 'Schreckenslücke' in German. The term refers to the discrepancy between how much people feel afraid of a risk versus how statistically dangerous it actually is. This term is often used in the context of behavioral economics. My second ever track produced using the Elektron Syntakt- Albeit sparingly. DVS NME - Tilting At Windmills

As the city exhales and the lights flicker awake, The Night Lies begins to move. It drifts through quiet streets and echoing buildings, where rhythms glow like signs in the rain and basslines roll like tires on wet pavement. CloudOceans guides this after-dark ride with deep, hypnotic precision, shaping mellow chords and subtle textures into a soundtrack for the hours most people miss.

The EP includes a smooth reinterpretation from RCS, lifting the title track into a deeper and slower space with a breath of fresh atmosphere. TH3WORM tunnels into a groovy redux, turning the track into a syrupy pulse that lingers long after the last note fades.

CloudOceans is on a mission to create the deepest sound possible. This is music for dance floors, for headphones, for empty roads and full hearts. It is steady, soulful, and tuned to the truth only the night dares to speak.

This is an older sketch of mine from almost 10 years ago that I decided to actually develop into something more than a sketch.
