Devil in a Marionette is the new single from one of South Coast’s finest, Duveaux, which is due to be self-released through iTunes & Spotify on the 3rd of March 2014. Recorded at Free Range Studios on the Isle of Wight, Mixed in Brooklyn by Rob Ballingall and Mastered by Christian Wisdom in NYC some could say the track has already had an exciting beginning!
 
Dan Duveaux says that…’Devil is a song about duality of the self. It's written upon my own experiences as a frontman coming to terms with what I need to be as opposed to what I am and, throughout the process, suffering a metamorphosis into the character that I only originally created as a mask. It's about personal change and not for the better, as although the confidence shines through, it comes with something a great deal darker…I think people go through these changes on a daily basis, trying to conform and distort your personality to suit others. It can often take a toll on the original individual who can get lost behind this new facade that becomes too much a prominent factor in their life to ever turn back on. The world can really change people.’
 
Based in the South of England, this 5 piece rock band formed in late 2012 and will draw you in and send you on a rollercoaster ride from which there is no turning back. With influences apparent from powerful, yet soothing, Bowie-esque vocals to grinding Strokes styled riffs embellishing grooves that sway from Hip-Hop to Gypsy Jazz; Duveaux's eclectic assault on popular music creates a smorgasbord of sound that cannot fail to get the crowd going…

They have a sound that lies in the best traditions of New York styled power pop merged with inventive lyrics and storytelling, all compacted into a three minute sonic whirlwind. Duveaux are one of those rarest of entities who have not spent lots and lots of hours in a studio masterminding their debut recordings. Instead, they have taken a preference to writing and demoing songs in their tiny little shed studio, and then hitting the road with just a handful of tunes, a van, and very little else.

This has allowed them to hone their sound and song writing skills in front of live audiences up and down the country, and are now preparing for the release of their first single "There Goes My Dreams (Again)" later this year. 

They already have a handful of radio pluggers and online marketing types offering them their services RE the release, and have also attracted the attention of various producers here in the UK. 2016 sees the band returning to the studio to follow up on their debut single with brash, fuzzy, growing live reputation and songs to boot. 

Duveaux have their own gun loaded and ready to fire for 2016 and there will be casualties..
