Celebrations are to be had as the storied Dutch label, SoHaSo enters its 11th year of existence. To mark this special occasion, two unique compilations have been created to highlight both the past and set the future for the imprint. Horizons looks ahead, with offerings from Bas Dobbalaer, Human Space Machine, Love Over Entropy, and newcomer So Oishi to mention a few.

Joining the compilation under his ‘Dwaalgast’ moniker, label head Nuno Dos Santos’ uplifting affair titled Tomoko is an energetic journey through a beatless land. Soulful leads and a warm melody bounce around as Nuno expertly crafts a rhythmic vibe and an earworm like bass line.

Tomoko and the entirety of the ‘Horizons’ 11 year compilation will be out on the 22nd of November.

Excited to share episode 5 where Debbie invited Dwaalgast for the Digital High series.

Dwaalgast, a new alias by Nuno Dos Santos. Nuno started this project back in 2020 with the aim of exploring ambient, gritty electronica, breaks, sound collages, and everything in between. Curious about the name Dwaalgast? It came to me while reading a book about animals, particularly birds. I think it suits the project very well and has a dual meaning. "Dwaalgast" refers to a rare animal that is observed outside its usual habitat. This can include marine mammals, bats, insects, but it's most commonly associated with birds. Also Dwalen in Dutch means "to wander" or "to stray."

For this episode Debbie made a mix inspired on the concept of Dwaalgast which is very close to her own conceptual ideas. You will hear that in the 1st hour. 

In the 2nd hour Dwaalgast takes over and will take you on his journey which will not disappoint.

Igor: "I haven’t stopped chopping breaks since I was introduced to Squarepusher and Amon Tobin about five years ago at the Conservatory of Utrecht. Having followed Alois (Birdguy) as he dived deeply into his musical passions for about the same amount of time, this seemed like the perfect opportunity to release my first electronic track/remix—encouraging one of my closest friends to keep looking after himself. <3"

I dedicated the remix to my precious son, Jakobe, the sunshine of my life. And linking this back to the song: if you don’t appreciate the rain, you don’t deserve the sun. ;-)"
