Black Dark Humor is a sad poem about the routine of life in a big city like São Paulo. A difficult day in the life of an ordinary Paulistano, facing work and dealing with the chaos of the city. A day when the earth stood still.

Another blinding day of heat,
And burning flames...
Last month hasn’t ended yet;
Time is just a shadow...
Through these hazy days, I agonize,
Then beg for mercy...

Have some pity on me;
I’m both devout and crude.
Sentenced to twenty years
In the penitentiary of boredom...
Now and then I try, at last,
To sigh without a thought...
To drown my feelings deep inside,
Then take off and fly.

It’s six o’clock, the morning’s here,
Yet the rooster never crows...
But my stern, responsible self
Shakes me up to rise again.
The bell tolls, I hide the sky,
A sky that bears no light...

I wanted a love song with spunk. Not sappy — real. “Crazy ‘Bout That Girl” is my nod to Trisha Yearwood’s “She’s in Love with the Boy,” flipped from the guy’s POV. It’s about the girl who’s wild, bold, maybe a little misunderstood — but you love every damn thing about her.

Her daddy’s not sure, her mama’s watchin’, and the whole town’s talkin’ — but you’re steady. You’re smilin’. And you know she’s the one. I had a blast writing this one. It’s playful, heartfelt, and made to be blasted with the windows down.

Every album needs a feel-good song that’s not just sweet — it’s proud. This is mine.
