They just released a single titled ‘Corner Der’, the group is still focused on breaking rules with their talents.
The fame and popularity gathered by these two young men (Dancegod Lloyd and Afrobeast) did not just spring up but has come through a lot of hard work, determination and persistence. From the streets of Ashaiman through to granting interviews with global television networks such as BBC and CNN.
They perform their craft alongside other young talents who are part of the DWP Academy. DWP Academy is a footprint of their impact they have made in the dance industry in Ghana. The academy has performed on big platforms like One Africa Music Festival in Dubai, Afro Nation Ghana, Vodafone Ghana Music Awards among others, and clearly dance and music cannot be separated.
Slowly, the two are making a name for themselves in the music scene as well. In 2020 Dancegod Lloyd’s single ‘Sika’ featuring Medikal went viral and people from all over the world danced and made viral videos to the song online, and if people ever doubted his ability, this new single with Afrobeast will be one for the books.
Their new project is Corner Der which was produced by the talented producer 3nity. It is the first single leading up to a collaborative album ‘Akwantuo’.

The release of song Corner Der a single from the ‘Akwantuo’ Album was a hit. Thousands of people all around the world jumped on the Corner Der challenge. It was a big wave in Ghana and the diaspora.

GUDA – An original dance step by Afrobeast 

GUDA is the latest Afrobeat dance step in Ghana created by the talented dance coach and co-founder of DWP Academy, Afrobeast. The name GUDA originates from the language Hausa, which means number 1. 
The dance, stemmed from the police brutality and racism happening all around the world, especially the USA brings around an uplifting spirit of sanity and peace of mind amidst this chaos.

We woke up one morning to so much hatred, brutality and discrimination in the society. Racism has existed in time past and the fight against it will not stop until it’s all over. #BlackLivesMatter

The heartaches felt from pondering over these left Afrobeast in a frustrated and burdened state of mind that caused him to create a dance step, in an attempt to let go and be free. 

The dance step GUDA emits the energy sanity, liberation and strength. It’s a perfect dance for when words are not enough to describe the emotions you feel inside. Whether it’s frustration or joy.

GUDA is a combination of three (3) basic Afro step moves (watch out for tutorial soon) and can be danced to any Afro song. Other genre of songs may work depending on the rhythm

DWP academy officially known as Dance with a Purpose Academy is the biggest dance school in Ghana that provides dance tutorials for people of all ages. The academy has total number of 350 students and 200 members. The academy has two coaches here in Ghana, Dancegod Lloyd and Afrobeast. We have two subsidiaries Dwpacademychina (@dwpacademychina) headed by our dance coach Yoofigreene and Dwpacademyusa (@dwpacademyusa) headed by Mrshawtyme who specialize in dancehall.
Our seasoned coaches have steadily built a large social media following in a short period through their creative content online. They are also creators of the “Sho ”. “Agbelemi dance”, “GUDA”,“Adonko ” ,”No New Friends “, and “Akiti dance”.
 
Dwp Academy’s main goal is to give the youth hope and a platform to help them see their dreams come true. We encourage the Youth be true to them and follow their passion and dreams .
