Manchmal schreibt das Leben die besten Songs – oder die kompliziertesten. "Leere Blicke" ist mein Versuch, ein paar dieser Momente einzufangen, in denen man den Kopf voller Gedanken hat, aber irgendwie nichts sagen kann. Ihr kennt das sicher: Man fragt dich, ob alles okay ist, und du antwortest mit einem halbherzigen Nicken und einem Gesichtsausdruck wie ein geplatztes Sofakissen. Genau darum geht’s in diesem Song.  

Aber keine Sorge, ich bleibe trotz allem Optimist – irgendwo hinter der Melancholie blitzt immer noch ein Lächeln durch (zumindest bei mir). Ich wollte hier eine Atmosphäre schaffen, die nachdenklich, aber nicht hoffnungslos klingt. Darum gibt’s auch ein Rhodes-Piano, das mit seinen warmen Klängen genau diese Stimmung einfängt, ohne zu schwer zu wirken. Streicher sorgen für den nötigen Tiefgang, während der Bass den Boden nicht unter den Füßen verlieren lässt – so wie ich es in den Lyrics beschreibe.  

Ja, und die Vocals und Backvocals kommen natürlich auch von mir. Wer hätte gedacht, dass mein Kopf nicht nur dumme Sprüche, sondern auch Melodien ausspuckt? Man lernt nie aus.  

Musikalisch geht das Ganze Richtung Pop Rock mit einem Hauch Synth-Pop und einer Prise Disco – weil ich trotz nachdenklicher Texte nicht ganz ohne Groove auskomme. Irgendwie schwingt bei mir halt immer ein bisschen Funk/Soul und Jazz mit. Ach ja, und mit 112 BPM habe ich genau das richtige Tempo gefunden, um zu grübeln, ohne in Selbstmitleid zu versinken.  

Am Ende bleibt nur zu sagen: Danke, dass du dir die Zeit nimmst, zuzuhören. Vielleicht erkennst du ja auch ein paar deiner eigenen Gedanken in diesem Song wieder. Falls nicht, hör einfach nochmal – vielleicht klappt’s beim zweiten Mal.
