While working on "PAY ATTENTION," I stumbled upon the beginnings of what would become "One:1 FM"
Originally, I thought it would be more conceptual or much more in line with the original album. Many of these tracks were made at the same time "PAY ATTENTION" was entering its final stages of completion. Think of it as a sort of B-Sides :]

Vhsceral’s sophomore contribution to the Renraku Global Media imprint speaks volumes about where the California-based producer resides in bass music. Me Time is a flowing expedition to the left field of his production on a path shrouded by cloudy textures and thick lows, exploring personality and cognitive dissonance through a diverse sonic palette. It reaches into a deep reflecting pool of sounds and influences and comes away as a robust second step into Vhsceral's perspective on electronic music.

 

Loud, rumbling ambience carries “Middle School” in, starting Me Time off with pizzicato strings forced into holding up a weighty atmosphere. Playful rhythms and instrumentation eventually give way to an authoritative saw lead, pulling everything back together last-minute. "Plosive" dips back and forth between melodic pleasantry and lethargic sound design, and "You Time" follows up with hot-headed aggression capable of melting itself down into a spacious, brooding aura. 

 
"Rekkaturvat" shoves stumbling house drums into a gelatinous sub, leaving this club-ready combination more than prepared for its sound system debut. A chirping top line poking through the surface of a muddily harmonious pool splits up these heady interactions until the song collides with its finish. “Upstairs” and “Me Time” bring groove, melody, and flow together, first stretching out towards distant trains of thought and then reassociating just before this release's conclusion.

 
Vhsceral gels together an auditory rendering of interlaced musical and personal experiences. A pensive self-examination with much ground to cover, this collection represents undervaluation, overthought, and dreary solitude.
