Josh Teed returns to Gravitas Recordings on December 2nd with an album we have been waiting years for.  This talented musician blurs the line between electronic and live music, using his strong musical talent in unique ways to create his signature sound.  With live instrumentation blended with his heavy bass production, Josh has been making waves in the scene and offering something truly special.

“Recurring Dreams was a labor of love, taking just over 2 years to finish. The vision behind it was to push the envelope in regards to the marriage of instrumentalism and melody, with experimental sound design and heavy bass. There is an immense range throughout the project, from dark and heavy tunes, to the beautiful and ethereal side, I wanted it to encompass the full range of emotion.” - Josh Teed

“Nightmare Sonata” opens up the album with beautiful violin and ethereal horns and instruments, slowly building into a heavy bass drop mirroring the instruments setting the vibe for this album journey.  “Ancient Illusions” continues this epic instrumentation while keeping the heavier tone teasing large wubs and bass, dropping into the heaviest drop of the whole album with aggressive bass and huge synths.  “Recurring Dreams”  is the title track of the album and the beginning showcases the more chill and ethereal instrumental side Josh wants to showcase, while still building into a glitchy heavy drop that flawlessly incorporates the original violin.  “Memories Of A Past Life”  opens up into a dreamy atmosphere exploring into the diverse sound he is capable of, very tastefully throwing in heavier bass elements but clearly showing a shift in energy to tease the rest of the album.  “Hypnagogia” continues this dreamy vibe with added piano from Jason Leech, slowly teasing heavier bass on the last drop but never actually dropping into it, truly captivating and almost showing the listener what he could have done with it.  “Baku” builds on this but quickly comes full force with a very unexpected drum & bass drop perfectly bringing the energy back up into a peak, ending with an epic half-time drop using the same elements.  “Elysian Forest” truly shows the diverse range of Josh Teed, and brings all the energy together for an unreal blend of downtempo and heavy dubstep with a massive final drop.  “Zones Of Reality” ends the album with beautiful instruments and rides the line between his chill and heavier sides of this release, a perfect final showcase of his sound.

deemster makes his debut release and beginning of a new project on Gravitas Recordings March 3rd.  Previously known as RUN DMT, this new project is lovingly saturated with trip hop, jungle, turntablism, breaks, and other styles of music that inspired him early on in his career.  These brand new tracks have a nostalgic and vintage feel to them, while bringing back the past and pushing the sounds of the future in a whole new way.  Recording guitars, drum sounds, foley, and a vintage drum machine to capture the warmth of the late 90s/early 2000’s era of electronic production.

“This record is a love letter to the place where I live and to the kind of music that got me interested in producing in the first place. This project is also a reflection of my love for cinema, as I approach each record like a director approaches a film, where style and atmosphere dictate the creative direction rather than a specific genre. This record is a collection of vibes that have lived in my head rent-free since I was a teenager; trip hop, jungle, breaks, etc were the soundtrack to most of my life and I am thrilled to lay them out on a single project. Tribone joins Gravitas Recordings on May 30th with a dark psychedelic bass EP that shook us to the bone.  This EP and Tribone’s production combines tribal elements with gritty bass grooves, uses organic percussions to accompany driven synthy melodies and maintains the dark and kicking stompi rhythms of his approach to psychedelic bass music. It still leaves room for natural sounds and other organic textures that inspire his music and sound design.  From big drums to vocals and the animal world, this flawlessly brings together all kinds of atmospheres and foley for a unique style of bass music.

An Inch of Silence opens up the EP with this surreal tribal rhythms and forest soundscape, transporting the listener into a dark jungle.  This long epic build peaks and drops into a heavy bass driven tribal groove that follows the same drums teased throughout the long build, accompanied by stabby synths and enchanting flute rhythms.  Roar builds upon this previous energy, bringing in actual animal roars and getting straight to business with heavy wubs and glitchy sound design building around the roars and staying true to the song’s name.  This is a stand-out track and is the only single off the EP May 23rd.  Aniraco slows down the energy in what feels like a perfect call and response, opening up with beautiful flute and tribal elements.  A perfect flow jam, it builds into heavier bass and sound design but focuses more on the drum rhythms and not overwhelming with heavy sound.  Losing Touch builds another beautiful forest soundscape with birds chirping that slowly builds into a drop of thumping bass and psychedelic foley and sound effects.  The drop feels almost like a ceremony and brings in vocal chants and more signature sounds to close out the EP in a beautiful way.  It leaves you wanting to hear more from this talented artist and is a full journey through his sound.

Through 11 artist collaborations that span over nine tracks, prepare to engage in an ecstatic, auditory journey full of rhythmic vibrations, beautiful melodies, and organic sounds. “Arise” with Equanimous and Skysia while they prepare for a meditative voyage into the beautiful sunset. Equanimous and nok nok immediately encounter a series of rhythmic, vocal percussion in “Bumpin Bass Beatbox.” Equanimous recruits Auralponic for “Tahini Kiatsu” as dreamy keys meet an expressive, bassy spirit with a hint of glitch. AHEE is the next companion when the duo encounters an “Air Bender,” who greets them with cinematic instrumentals that alter between dreamy and high-powered. Hohm and Equanimous are soon escorted to meet the “Saviour,” travelling down a passage of soothing bells and oscillation. “Echoes” are rebounded as Equanimous and ZANDRO face a shadowy, unknown opponent of mysterious origins. Equanimous and Oliwa enlist ethereal singer Ruby Chase for a celestial sailing to the sky as she reminds them to keep their “Head Up High.” Equanimous and his alternate musical alias, Bliss Looper, experience euphoric “Dreamality” as angelic vocalist Cyndy Fike enters the stage.
