This recording is a reinvention of an old work song from a Mississippi Chain-Gang led by C.B. Cooke, and backed by the axe-wielding gang singing harmony/response. The axe blows that laid down the pace of work in the A Cappella original have been used here to set the tempo for a late 60's Psychedelic Blues experience.
