Dylan Charles is a singer/songwriter/producer based in New York City. His music runs the gamut from acoustic americana and blues to soulful rock and lofi pop.

He is currently working with producer Tony Calabro of Astoria Park Recording to polish up the mountains of material he has accumulated since taking a performance hiatus in 2020.

New single drops are on the horizon as Dylan gears up to release a double EP called LIGHTSIDE/DARKSIDE beginning with a mystery release on March 5. The release will also be marked by Dylan’s return to the stage at Pete’s Candy Store in Brooklyn where he and his band will perform the soul-americana-lofi-rock epic in its entirety.

LIGHTSIDE/DARKSIDE will be Dylan’s most ambitious solo record since his work with Bisbee, AZ band The Border Crossers and producer Craig Schumacher on Time for Breakfast (2009) and Scorpions, Sickles & Skyscrapers (2011).

In NYC, Dylan’s creative energy had been primarily dedicated to touring, writing and recording with his soul band ON THE SUN since he co-founded the group in 2012 to when he stepped down in 2020. 

On the Sun LP (2014), Gratuity Not Included EP (2018) and the single Get Focused (Live) (2019) all feature his work. 

In addition to his own projects, he frequently works with other artists as a producer, co-writer and multi-instrumentalist. He is currently working extensively with award-winning artist Brizzo and plans are in the works for a summer European tour alongside folk/pop superstars Bandits on the Run.
