I think of all the mornings I’ve spent watching the sun come up in a room of sweat, haze and a sea of people fully succumbing to the low end rumble of a good beat playing on club speakers, knowing that this has happened countless times in the past 50 years, particularly here in NYC. Devotion captures that feeling of surrender, but not as a means to escape, but as full immersion in a moment that will only happen once and simultaneously feels timeless.
