The message has been sent. “We Speak Volcano” has finally arrived as a completed work for anyone to engage in. This is an exploration of the self using the only tools we had at the time to capture the neuro-somatic changes the conductor began to experience processing trauma of loss. The process of which became quite trippy in doing so. 
It is part fantasy/science fiction, part biographical- filled half with truths and half lies. By engaging with this enigma of our own design it is our hope that the viewer/listener/witness (whoever you are) can enjoy trying to discern what is fact from fiction the same way we have. We have and always will love a good puzzle.

The intention behind this artwork was always for it to become animate, thereby demonstrating something we have been trying to achieve musically for nine years; that art & reality is not static but something that truly is alive. 
We really wanted to make a piece that could truly jump off the page and leap out to grab you the same way that the media that inspires us has. 

To do this we began to apply our DIY methodology of composition & audio production into mediums outside of music. We employed the use of holography, narration and pop culture memography to try and create our own variety of modern surrealism. 

We believe that due to the semantic nature of what a hologram is this was the best way to do that given that they are by definition projections that are both physical and psychological- existing strictly in the eye of the beholder when viewed under the right lighting conditions. 

It is the hope of the conductor/director of this close encounter of the theatrical kind that we can continue to explore this methodology and expand this craft further without having to go through the amount of heartbreak and trauma that was poured into this. We don’t believe especially that works of art by any means need to be exhaustive or painful to be good but if we are speaking plainly this one certainly was. It has been an illuminating exploration into the self and we are putting it on display like this as a form of radical self acceptance and create a form of both yoga, theater, dance and therapy. 

This is “We Speak Volcano” and if the spell works then by engaging with this artwork we think that maybe (just maybe) that so can you. We all can speak volcano because the truth of the landscape and the architecture of our planet is built upon the alchemical reality of what that is.
