When two musicians intensively work together for a period of time, at some point the whole becomes greater than the sum of its parts. If Paul Boex and Dave Miller hadn’t already reached that status under their Abstract Division moniker, they certainly have now, with the release of Midnight Ensemble, their first full length album.   

Those who have followed the duo since their early days of playing dj-sets together, know that it’s hard to define their style anywhere beyond techno or even electronic music, as it is ever evolving and always dependent on the time of the day or night. When listening to this album, the resemblance between their unpredictable selection behind the decks and the eclectic range of subgenres on this album is more obvious than ever before.  

Midnight Ensemble could be interpreted as an ode to nightlife; a reminiscence of all that happens between dusk and dawn, captured and compressed into about one hour of music. An hour in which they so delicately time their changing of styles and tempos, always reading the room and always being one step ahead of the crowd.

  This album is a reflection of that skill, starting its journey with soothing, mood-setting ambient, followed by timeless pieces of Detroit and dubtechno. A daring electro cuts providing a refreshing break from the four to the floor tradition, only to be followed by the stripped down sound the duo is so comfortable with.   

The final minutes consist of experimental breaks, one last banger to pull out the last bits of energy that is left and a beautiful outro, which concludes the all-nighter vibe. There are no open endings, it doesn’t make you want to stay in the dark forever. Rather it makes you want to close your eyes one last time before walking outside to see the sun come up again before going home, overwhelmed and satisfied.

Dynamic Reflection kicks off the year 2025 with the third release of their sub label Morphologies; a powerful and hypnotic release from Linear System and his new label mate Subtil. Their signature sound will definitely make a big impact on the dance floor.

We're happy to welcome Dutch techno queen Beste Hira with her own interpretation of the title track of this EP. She managed to make her own version which resulted in a special stripped down groove.

Spanish producer Sarf delivers four mind-bending hypnotic techno tracks, each one evolving with precision into powerful dancefloor weapons. To top it off, none other than Phara — a distinguished artist who has firmly earned his place at the forefront of techno — steps in for the remix. And he managed to put together a very trippy yet energetic remix, just the way we like it.

After five years, Augusto Taito makes the long-awaited return to the label with a brand new EP, marking the fifth chapter in our Morphologies series. The release offers a range of distinctive tracks, striking a balance between driving peak-time material and the deeper, more introspective side of techno.

For the remix, we’re thrilled to welcome the brilliant JakoJako to the label. Her love for modular synths and funky rhythms comes together perfectly in the remix she’s delivered!

They say “Never change a winning team”. Once again we have the honour to strike with two talented guys from the South of Europe. Gabriel D’Or & Bordoy’s "Descendants EP" is a very valuable contribution to the Nursery.

The amount of detail is great. Led by effective but intense rhythms, soundscapes are alternating between deep and redeeming emotions, which are balanced out very well. The spaces being explored as big as the energy withtin these well selected grooves.

Time literally drifts away while going through this journey.

[DGTL Bonus 002] Abstract Division - Solar Return (Polygonia Remix)

On Quantum Realm, Oscar Mulero sets the bar high as per usual, dropping a uptempo but minimalistic cut. The second track is one from Fixeer, a familiar face of Dynamic Reflection. His contribution is the kind of slumbering track that will fit the moments before getting to peak time perfectly.

  Taking over is Nørbak, the Portugese youngster that has earned himself a reputation for slaying dancefloors with both his dj-sets and productions alike and his track ‘Your Heroes May Fail You’ is no exception. Lastly, Vladw provides the last track and the perfect closing of this EP. A lower beats per minute, some added ambience and spacious background noise make for the perfect outro.

B2. Vladw - Saya

This fourth EP in the Time Crystals series sees Troy returning to the label with a low-key driver, carried by sharp percussion and filtered chords that keep the attention locked in before Ukrainian Svarog and Ma-gooch take over, delivering their signature sound – evolving pads, dreamy soundscapes – resulting in yet another beautiful early hours piece of music.

Wonderchild Luigi Tozzi proves once again that he is a master at blending ambient-influences with dubby atmospheres, resulting in music that fits both dancefloors and living rooms. For the EP’s fourth track Jonas Körbl, who you might remember from his debut album on Dynamic Reflection some years ago, combines energetic percussion patterns and synth rhythms.

His Primal Grade is a seemingly perfect successor to Tozzi’s Haboob, as both artists obviously take pride in their carefully arranged and modestly performed pieces of techno.

Equilibrium is part of Dynamic Reflection’s 15 year anniversary celebration: Time Crystals. This is the fourth out of five EP’s. Own all five and an all new, visual piece of art will appear.

A1. Troy - Yann

On this fifth and final instalment of the Time Crystals series, GDB takes the first turn with a fierce track, fittingly called Saw; its driving fundament alternated with rousing synths. Pyramidal Decode’s second track provides a break from the four to the flour patterns, before handing over to old friend of the label Uun, whose Seeking the End is a true peak time banger.

Polish Szmer has the honor to provide not only this EP’s last track but also for this entire series. He does so in the form of SEQ3, a track that embodies what Dynamic Reflections 15-year discography stands for in the first place: artists from all corners of the world, young and old, respecting what generations before them have built up while turning it into something new.

The somatic effects of different impulses are often unclear until the moment they are experienced. However, the way these impulses are processed and guided towards their final area of effect is remarkably similar in many cases. Even if you consciously try to reenact a certain event by exactly following previously taken steps, the outcome is seldom the same.

Each frequency becomes an impuls, which flows through our axons until they reach our most affective areas, where translation and interpretation take place. It is interesting to look at the microseconds between the impuls and its translation: a moment of pure objectivity, without interpretation or judgement. In that moment, music is exactly the same as any other vibration in the air. It is our interpretation that ultimately compels us towards the repetitive ones we call rhythm.

For the second and last EP of Contemporary Spaces remixes, Dynamic Reflection welcomes yet another batch of talented producers to the label. Just like the first remix EP, it is a mix between household names, and up and comers.  
 
First off, it’s Perc’s interpretation of Glide. The UK-based artist, who is known for his use of distortion and aggressiveness, takes it down a notch on this occasion. He has made Glide into a echoing and glitchy track that doesn’t reach its energy peak until the last couple of
minutes. Matrixxman takes over with his Biohazard mix of Future Existence, which contains a tensive synth, confined by a filter that gradually opens,and than closes again, retaining your attention at all times.  
 
On the B-side, SHDW and Obscure Shape reshaped The Hunt to provide the first outright dance floor track of the EP. With its thumping kick and epic pads around the breaks, it’s bound to win crowds over in the club. Dutch talent Ben Buitendijk also remixed Future Existence, in his own distinctive, hypnotic style. A deep, though energetic track with a verymature sound. 
 
Lastly, as a digital bonus, Matrixxman remixed Immersion as well. The subby kick, old school rides and uplifting lead, make it into one of those secret weapons, waiting to be used on the night’s most worked-up moments.

The Nursery’s seventh release sees another newcomer: it’s Violent. A truly promising DJ and producer from Poland, rapidly making a name for himself as a pusher of rough, breakbeat induced techno. Stressful Environment contributes to that persona. It is a fierce composition of peak time tracks, that at times hint towards industrial, while preserving a certain melancholy. It is largely this combination that makes these tracks complement each other so well. The muscular foundation gives them their power; an enlightening fragility keeps them from becoming mere stompers. With that, Violent has put together an impressive piece of contemporary techno that will most likely see the inside of many clubs in the months to come. The ‘Stressful Environment EP’ is bound to make the name Violent stick around for a while.
