touching on the soft sides of noise and the harsh nature of ambient. exploring the eerie sounds of my voice and my saxophone, as an extension of my breath. songs for the departed and those who can only mourn now. a collection of essays too negligible or too real to be put into words. an aural testimony of events that emerged and withered overnight. the opposition to silence.

Was honoured to close room 1 after Surgeon live on the Friday, the room was about as busy as I have seen it at Freerotation and being the first night everyone was on fire!   Took a little while to warm up/get used to the setup and a couple of needle jumps!  Enjoy.

Here is the recording of my set for FREEROTATION FESTIVAL this year.
I Played on the sunday evening, after a long, hot, beautiful weekend at Baskerville Hall!
The set was performed after Sam Watson and before Neel...
It was a hot, heady room, so a total throwdown, just go with what you feel selection. Spontaneity! The energy in the room was amazing.

The set was recorded by my close friend Alex Downey and crowd room noise inclusion edit by Charlie Tear (50 Arc). What a joy to have a mic recording simultaneously to get that feeling of being back and to give those not there a feel of the energy there!

Recorded on 2 x technics 1210's, Allen & Heath mixer, Tascam field recorder, CDJ's.

Here's a recording of my Live Set at Festival Forte made using modular synthesisers and hardware machines. It's a bit rough in places, but you can hear the music being created and destroyed as it's happening and I love that most about performing improvised live sets. So I wanted to share the recording with you.
