Roberto Traista's "Long Lost Memories" saw the Romanian artist create a moment of magic with his four-track EP on Agara Music in September 2014. As Yin and Yang now returns to the title track, remixes come courtesy of a quartet of artists that that span the globe with stops in Cyprus, Turkey and Argentina.

Mainstays of the Cypriot dance scene, Paul Angelo & Don Argento have performed across the island's clubs with their distinctive "dark progressive sound." In parallel, an impressive production career has also seen the duo celebrate over 75 production credits since a July 2016 debut on SANiLLE Recordings. Going on to develop relationships with a host of high-profile underground dance labels, Clinique Recordings, Bonzai Progressive and Soundteller have all played their part in furthering the pair's name with their music supported by the DJ elite that includes Hernan Cattaneo, Markus Schulz and Ruben de Ronde. 

Making their debut on Yin, the Paul Angelo & Don Argento remix exhilarates with its dark, pulsating sound that hypnotizes with a heavy beat and strong percussive groove. A rich bassline adds further weight while sumptuous chord progressions sweep through on a wave of emotion. Evolving superbly to a rousing crescendo at the mid-point breakdown, excellent use is made of Traista's central melodic themes to create an impressive new reworking.

Dan Baseley aka Orsen returns to Replug Records for the much anticipated follow-up to his 2017 release 'Through The Woods'. Received amidst much praise, the four track offering was sonically diverse and widely regarded as Dan's most captivating work to date. The UK born, Austria based artist began his 2018 journey with a remix of '11 Moons' by progressive house stalwarts GMJ and Matter. Coming courtesy of Proton Music it set in motion what promises to be another landmark year for the burgeoning producer. Now presenting his first original productions of 2018, Orsen returns to Cid Inc's Replug Records with a brand new artist showcase entitled 'Driftwood'. 

Spread across three tracks it's the title and first showcase piece 'Driftwood' which gets the EP underway. Built around a buzzing foundation are effervescent pulses and head shaking percussion. From dramatic, anticipatory beginnings the narrative then shifts into emotive territory, as warm overlays descend over the charged groove. Evolving elegantly over it's eight minute voyage are reflective motifs and hopeful themes, before culminating in a tepid rush of rich textures and impassioned chord changes. 

The equally brilliant 'Modified' continues the journey with an effortless, free flowing style. A cascading bass pattern begins the melodic storyboard, developing subtly within the rhythmic framework, as fuzzed out stabs and waves of atmosphere elevate the mood. Beautifully sculpted percussion adds further drive, leading to a collage of melodic textures, ultimately peaking during an exhilarating third act finale. 

The release concludes with 'Tundra' which finds Orsen exploring new melodic directions. Beautiful and innovative in equal measure it's a snapshot of the Austria based artist's vast studio repertoire. On a backbone of warm, delicate beats comes organic percussion, piano motifs and a squirrly yet emotive lead line. Its capricious nature behoves a string of emotive moments, accentuated wonderfully by rousing vocal phrases, before melting down to a gentle purr in the third and final act. 

For an artist who chooses his projects wisely, Orsen has once again expanded his sonic palette on 'Driftwood', creating evocative sound stories while keeping a pulse firmly on the dance floor. Set to be one of the summer season's most sought after EP's, it further solidifies Orsen's place amongst the progressive house elite.

PREMIERE: Luke Hunter - Divine Vibration (Robert Babicz Remix) [Laika Sounds]

The latest release from Higher States finds label boss Roger Martinez back in the spotlight with a new EP. Having the launched the label in March with his well received ‘Dreamtime’ EP, the Dutch artist has quickly built the label into a sought after landing spot for progressive music’s top artists. While also calling Lost & Found, Replug and Sudbeat home, Roger now returns to Higher States for his much anticipated ‘Hope/Gateway’ double a-side release.

Never one to be prolific, Roger has always been an artist that chooses his spots wisely. With the March release of his aforementioned ‘Dreamtime’ EP, the Amsterdam resident then remixed Michael A for the newly formed Serendeep imprint in April. Now with ADE just a week away Roger presents his third project of the year beginning with ‘Hope’. Carefully sitting in the creative space between house and techno this has many of Roger’s most beloved production hallmarks. From it’s perfectly sculpted beats to meticulously manicured percussion and a carefully interwoven pixie-like narrative, it’s a journey to lose yourself in. Musically transcendent, it radiates warmth and will no doubt create a bevy of soulful moments both on the dance floor and during home listening sessions.

The companion piece ‘Gateway’ comes in decidedly deeper and moodier. Unique and groovy, it showcases an esoteric side of Roger’s repertoire. The rhythmic affinity it commends cannot be overstated,as layers of percussion, pensive arps and acidic stabs unite in a hip swinging dance floor jaunt. A colourful break heightens emotion before melting down to a haze of astral sonics, as the groove drops for a funky final act. It rounds out what is an astute EP from Roger, making for another memorable addition to Higher States’ growing discography.

"Following the success of his "One Side of the Underground" series, Rick Pier O'Neil now presents Vol. 3 with new original tracks plus remixes from UK and Argentinean industry icons.

An artist with a 24-carat reputation within the underground dance industry, Rick Pier O'Neil follows on from where he left off in "Vol. 2". "Travel Meet" sees a collaboration with French artist Sonov as a ticking percussive groove and grooved bassline build alongside a hypnotic arpeggio. Evolving elegantly, white-noise swirls and granular pads add to the sonic architecture alongside new melodic motifs in the second half. "Manipulation" sees O'Neil join forces with Ukrainian artist Serge Landar in a mesmerising work that revels in sustained bassline prowess. A shaker-fuelled percussive framework supplies dancefloor character and a rich array of counterpoint melodies play off each other as arpeggios and pads combine in complex stratified layers. The third original offering is a solo affair that finds O'Neil showcasing his production skills through "Fair Trade". A glorious rhythmic and bass groove provides energy throughout as trademark textured pads and white-noise swirls ripple back and forth across the stereo soundstage. Delayed analogue motifs make an appearance at the breakdown that bridges the darker bass and percussion-oriented movements either side. The result is another classy piece.

There are few more iconic names in the underground dance industry than, Nick Muir. As one half of the Bedrock duo with John Digweed and a double century of appearances on the latter's Bedrock imprint, Muir is as relevant today as he was during his legendary work in the late 90s. Also finding his name allied to the likes of Vapour Recordings, Perspectives Digital and Watergate, Muir's DJ career has seen him perform across the globe on a regular basis. Making his Proton Music debut, the Nick Muir remix of "Tribute" is a gloriously dynamic affair that takes the central bassline of the original and transforms takes it on storming journey alongside a glorious array of arps, beautifully textured pads and rich melodic motifs. The addition of a club-friendly beat and groove-laden percussion is sure to fill dancefloors the world over.

Subtract boss Anton Tumas debut on the label with his full release, ‘Secret’ supported by a stand out remix from Luca Bacchetti. 

DJ, promoter and label owner, Tumas, is the epitome of laser focus. Cali-based, he’s grown his brand, Subtract from the ground up, and made a huge name for himself in the local scene. Signed to Balance Music via Hernan’s incredible 2017 mix compilation, Anton is a talent artist finding his stride. 

‘Secret’ is subtlety personified. Deep dubby kicks and thick lofi atmosphere wrap you in a cloak of melancholy, organic plucks and warm pads envelop and familiar feels abound. Teaming up with Treavor Moontribe next, ‘Razor Road’ begins in ambience. Building tension menacingly, the arrival of the kick ushers in a dark energy that is impossible to resist. Deep, powerful and utterly beguiling. Finally, Endless label owner, Luca Bacchetti adds his unique perspective to ‘Secret’ respecting the originals vibe but adding nuanced bass and percussive touches.

BIOGRAPHY:

Dynamic Illusion, also known as Daniel Gyarmati, was born in 1985 in Szombathely, Hungary. Music has been a part of his life since his childhood years. His father’s loves of music also infected him in his early years with his old vinyl classics like Kraftwerk and Jean Michell Jarre.

Daniel spent eight years honing his musical talent at a music conservatory, playing for the local orchestra. After getting his first PC at age 13, he began to discover the musical possibilities of the computer, composing his first pieces of music. At the same time, he became exposed to the DJ scene, attending parties and becoming influenced by the energetic tech sounds of Dave Clark, Chris Liebing, and Umek, as well as the progressive music of DJs like John Digweed, Sasha, Dave Seaman, and Max Graham.

Daniel’s musical obsession made him search his inner self for something unique. He was torn: he still loved the energy that techno gave him, but at the same time felt that the genre was regressing. He was in dire need of change and found his real love: progressive house. This was music where you could combine funk, drive, melodies, ass-shaking beats, and awkward sounds all in one, rather than using a single formula that he had grown tired of.

Nowadays he got more than 100 tracks released and many are feedbacked and played by the biggest names from the scene like Nick Warren, Jody Wisternoff, Moshic, Quivver, Solarstone, Lemon8, Jaytech, Fernando Ferreyra, Michael & Levan, Faskil, Kintar and many more...

Besides his work as a producer, Daniel is also credited as being an excellent DJ. His sets these days are as diverse as his productions, blending progressive, breaks, and deep house into a very distinct and atmospheric sound. 

He has been featured with exclusive mixsets on every month, at Frisky Radio (Mindfields) where the intelligent dance music gets the leading part, with co-host Retroid. 

At 2012 he started his own record label called Deep Dive, that is focused for deep house music, and at 2013 the sublabel called Star Dive, wich is the place for he's progressive and break expressions.
