Welcome to Episode 22 of the Soul:Form Liquid Drum and Bass mix series! This time we got Fryett stepping in for a stellar mix full of the smoothest Liquid Drum and Bass.

Hailing from the South West of the UK, Fryett is a DJ whose selection draws influence from across the spectrum of Drum & Bass, specialising mostly in liquid and dancefloor D&B.  2024 has seen him playing at Liquicity Festival as 1/3rd of the trio Ground Crew and opening Sub Focus’ London pop-up, and he has previously supported liquid acts such as Hugh Hardie, IYRE and Telomic.

In the world of UK rave music, few names resonate like Micky Finn and Vital Elements. Two iconic figures, each with a distinct and foundational role in the evolution of jungle and drum 'n' bass, they’ve spent decades shaping the music we know today. From the birth of acid house in the late '80s to the relentless energy of 160-180 bpm jungle and DnB that continues to fill dancefloors worldwide, Micky Finn and Vital Elements have been there, pushing boundaries and forging the sounds that define the UK’s rave scene. 

Their new project, Warehouse Days, is a celebration of that journey—a sonic memoir that takes listeners through the history of the music that’s been the heartbeat of countless parties, movements, and lives. The album is not just another collection of tracks; it’s an expansive exploration of musical influences that have shaped their careers and the genres they’ve helped pioneer.

Dalenn returns to Wicked Jungle with a pair of proper heaters! This two-track journey through the murkiest corners of the jungle/dnb spectrum delivers exactly what Dalenn is known for-hard, dark drum & bass with rugged beats and zero compromise.

First up, Gutta has been rumbling in the underground on dub for months. Bouncing breaks scatter and ricochet off rain-soaked gutters and alley walls, while dirty, grimy synth growls and sub-heavy 808s deliver a relentless barrage of jungle pressure-raw, rugged, and straight from the beatdown urban streets.

On the flip, Desolation conjures visions of barren wastelands, flattened cities, and pure ruin-and the track lives up to the name. From the first ominous snare to the final, soul-crushing amen, Dalenn unleashes a jungle tune that leaves dancefloor devastation in its wake. The composition showcases some of his finest breakbeat editing to date, with expertly chopped amens weaving through gritty, rolling drums and a clean, sonically powerful reese bassline.

A welcome return to Wicked Jungle indeed.
