It’s good to get back to New Zealand again and we’ve been itching to put this EP by Maxx Mortimer out for a while. It nearly didn’t happen when his laptop was stolen but the stars aligned and the world of music is now a better place.

Feelings is vocal house at it’s very best with Stacey Gardener bringing the soul. Deep, simple and catchy its reminiscent of Miguel Campbell’s Something Special and has the potential to get the same kind of heat.

Next up Soulfood is deep garage that packs an extra thump. Nagging chords and sample, a big bottom end and drums that swing are all that you need for perfect heads down Saturday night NYC flavoured tackle. Expect dance floors like Faith, MOS and Fabric to be jumping all over this.

Got Some Funk has a more live flavour and it’s all in the groove that hits the one. Again on a garage tip with Rhodes and sample at the forefront this does it’s thing and does it damn well.

Dynamix - the name personifies the intent behind the music. He’s not held down by trends, going his own way with his sound, he’s not restrained by sub-genre. Drawing from all of his musical influences, other genres spice his tracks giving them their unique flavour.

Dynamix made waves with his debut release on DJ Trace’s legendary DSCI4 imprint making the Top 10 in the genre against established well known artists with his First Contact EP. Drum & Bass Arena premiered his track “Cold Heat” labelling him a “beat-smith” which immediately caught the attention of many headz with a fresh take on Techstep; a brutal stepper designed for the sound system. 
With a forthcoming track on the infamous Spy Technologies  series; Spy Technologies 8: Pandemic LP (DSCI4) he’s pulling no punches with a techy roller appropriately named “Murderation” that already has many gassed to get their hands on after hearing the dub on his guest mix for In:Reach UK.
Expect Dynamix to flip the script with another EP in the works for Heists Co-Lab Recordings imprint where he shows us the funky side of his productions.

Dynamix is representing for NZ D&B in the most understated way. With a long standing foot in the NZ D&B scene he’s well equipped to bring his take on the genre and give the raver a ride true to the craft.
