Quando noi prof stiamo aspettando,
un po’ annoiati, le riunioni dopo pranzo, 
mi stupisco di quel che constato:
a legger sono l'unico rimasto.
Di libri non si vede manco l’ombra,
l’importante è riposar le stanche membra,
sfogarsi con colui che vicino ci rimane
dei torti subiti nelle ultime settimane.
Ma io so bene che informare il collega,
a cui tra l’altro non gliene importa una sega,
non porterà ad alcun cambiamento,
né tra dieci anni, né tantomeno tra cento.
Allora mi ricordo di una lettura recente
di un libro acquistato con la carta docente,
che avevo, come al solito, lasciato a metà,
e son contento che di leggere ho la facoltà.
I colleghi notano subito qualcosa di strano:
 “Cosa ci fa quel nuovo collega con un libro in mano?”
Per alcuni legger non è cosa rara,
e son proprio coloro che s’informano sulla mia lettura.
Ma ogni tanto mi distraggo, e questo non va bene,
perché penso: ma insomma, a nessuno conviene
leggere qualcosa di un argomento amato?
Mi sa che l’amore per i più è bell’e sparito.


Io vado a scuola!
