This is the 3rd Audio Demo of my Di$count Gear (Gear<CAD$200) and the latest additions to be focused on are the Behringer RD-6 '606' clone and the Behringer Crave with its generous (for the price) patch bay. Is the Behringer RD-6 a decent drum machine? Same design as the TD-3, they look good side-by-side. It is an analog drum machine with 8 sounds that cannot be altered in any way except volume. It comes with individual audio outs for 6 drums and a volume control for each, the two hihats and the two toms being grouped together. Each drum having their own channel for individual processing is probably the best feature of this drum machine. I took advantage of that by plugging the drums into my new Mackie 1202-VLZ3 Mixer that I've recently bought used. It features 2 separate FX Sends that I have going into the Beebo FX Pedal Box (in parallel) to deliver Reverb and Delay that can be adjusted separately. This Mackie Mixer replaces my 4 Channel Numark DJ RCA Mixer and outperforms it on every level and Mackie will likely be my brand of choice when it's time to get a 24 track mixer - I am that impressed with this 12 tracker esp. low (FX) noise and great (nice and punchy) sound quality.

We start the demo with the RD-6 claps and hi-hats to hear their impact on their own and throw in some reverb, we then add percussion from the Volca Sample and an FM sound from the Volca FM that I imported from my now large Yamaha DX7 Patch Collection. We let the Volca Kick run and after a while do a Hi/Lo Tom Roll build up and start bringing in the '303' Acid Line to which I add some Reverb and Delay from the Beebo. After a Snare roll that we start bringing in the Behringer CRAVE which is Tempo Sync'd to the RD-6 and has MIDI running from the TD-3. 

The Crave and the 303 sound really complimentary together. The only drum I did not use from the '606' is the Bass Drum, partially because I was using the Volca Kick, but also because it's the weakest of all the given drums, unless you are writing your own Plastikman material ;) However because the bass drum has it's own audio out - you can beef it up any way you like using a channel on your mixer. Overall the RD-6 is what it is - a discount drum machine with decent sounds and the value you get out of it is how cheap you can get it - I've seen it on Amazon for as low as $50. Overall the open/closed hats and claps are crisp and very usable, especially having their own audio outs for separate processing. It also frees up tracks on my Volca Sample that would otherwise be used for those percussions. The Crave is a wonderfully analogue sounding machine that plays real well alongside a '303'.

For this occasion, the secret guest artist, performing under new alias Nazarenos [bassi], delights us with three pieces that challenge the ingrained conventions of contemporary electronic music, offering a deconstructed perspective on the notion of unity.

The mini-EP, titled No/Tempo, stands as the gravitational center of a "non-place": a space where everything exists in potential, the primordial origin of all unmanifested forms. In this exploration of the essential, the three tracks seem to explode in distinct and opposing directions, eluding any defined trajectory but sharing a common point of origin. It's as if something, long confined outside of time, suddenly manifests in a primordial burst.

Tune in to this unique 'Dadaist' machine, where styles and genres are not boundaries, but rather fundamental building blocks for a work of expansive vision.

It's been a Minute, New Recordings coming! STUDIO 3.0 Photos Coming shortly. New Synth on sale from Amazon - [UNO SYNTH X PRO]... 128 presets room for 256. Sounds Great so far and Syncs up real well with the setup described below.

Music Label run by a long-time DJ LEM, living on the West Coast diving deep into Music Production, especially the Live Performance kind. 

[PUSH 2] has been added to the proof-of-concept rig in my living room. This is running on Ableton Live 12, as they give you a second license activation with the Suite. [Donner Essential B1] is my 3rd 303 Unit - this one I bought because of a real good phat 303 sound and 128 pattern capacity plus it comes with a very decent delay.  [Arturia Keystep PRO] has arrived in the e-lemental.Music Studio... it was the last new unit in Vancouver and came at a hefty price for a MIDI Controller but I recon with the amount of Gear accumulated here, especially the semi-modulars, the Keystep Pro will be very useful tool indeed. Pictured here with the Beatstep Pro, one Sync Cable between them offers me control of 5 Melodic Sequencers and 2 Drums, or 6 Melodic and 1 Drum. This setup got me on fire and the Roland TR-8S is the perfect drum machine companion to these. 

[Arturia MiniBrute 2S] and [DrumBrute Impact] is my favorite setup for harsher sonic territories such as Industrial and Hard Techno, but far from limited to that. Please check out  my Track named "MURKY MEMORIES" to hear these two in action. Linked with a Sync cable they act as two parts of One Unit and sonically complimentary to one another. The Patch Bay on the 2S is very useful and the sequencer is very powerful and the reason I bought this one instead of the keyboard version.

[Ambient Zero] and [Korg Wavestate MK2] linked with a MIDI cable is my latest favorite setup for AMBIENT/DRONE Music. This will likely be paired up with other Units and Ableton Live's Drone Lab Instrument, which comes in at 8.6GB.

[Behringer Triple Rack] is finally done, Neutron was my first semi-modular analogue synth, followed by the Proton when it came out, and the MS-20 clone K2 came a few weeks ago from Poland to complete the rack. That means STUDIO v3.0 Photo shoot is coming! Will be done once the Live Rig (below) and the Rack are hooked up.

NXT RECORDING -- LIVE with no playlist so completely spontaneous ALL selected from my Vinyl/Vinyl Sourced Collection of Quality Tracks mixed with ROLAND TR-8S Drum Machine Beast with its 128 excellent drum kits and 128 Patterns. This is to celebrate the TIGHT SYNC between the TR-8S and Traktor using MIDI Clock and moving one step closer towards completely LIVE UNSCRIPTED Mixes with the Drum Machine Wonder.... I will call these types of mixes FRESH and with adding live drum patterns it becomes a LIVE PA MIX. NXT Dated Lem Sessions at 120BPM is right between the couch and the dancefloor. a mix of styles that sound good at that tempo.

The ReDSCAPe vinyls have arrived - gorgeous red and black (4). The Ilian Tape Vinyl is here too. Latest (echospace) Detroit Vinyls from CV313 have arrived, blue vinyl pictured is SAILINGSTARS and is absolutely sublime. The cherry vinyl is in my repost section if you want to check it out, it's CV313 plays Mike Huckaby. They will both be featured on the next Sessions. 

2025 will mark the first Track Releases (not just DJ mixes) on e-lemental.Music label. Look for a First Single, then First EP leading to First Album. I am open to other Artists joining the label at some point, but not until those three things are realized.
