As a young kid in Florida a friends Mother and Little brother were brutally murdered - This is my recollection........

When i was just a kid at 6 years old - i kissed a girl who's mother died that night I'm told - the devil took her brother and her soul - i heard her little brother was just 4 years old - and she was at her grandma's safe and sound - days went by i watched she never came around - she was left to endure this pure hell - i wonder what happened to poor Michelle
Kids around the neighborhood would go - around the house to watch the police show - Taped off from the porch to the stairs - bloodstained like all my tears 
for forty years i dreamed about calling you taking you out but i was so afraid yeah i was so afraid - and all this time i sat around - praying that you'd be found but I'm still so afraid that i won't know what to say Michelle
I wish that i could call you on the phone - to let you know you've never ever been alone - Never had the nerve to do so - and I've kept a secret you deserve to know - that night on Christmas eve i was there - i saw your mothers husband walking up the stairs - I had a gift to give to you that night - your mom said you weren't home with terror in her eyes - How could i have known i was just a kid - I almost told my mom oh god i wish i did - Instead i went about my Christmas eve - watching Jesus getting tortured on TV - My soul cried out for him as he was beat - and i forgot about the monster who was down the street - morning saw your mama on the screen - same eyes as the night before that keep on haunting me

Over the past few years I have made it a custom to record a new DJ set on each Summer Solstice in celebration of the beginning of summer here in the Northern Hemisphere. I was going through some tracks that i mucked around with during lock down, and decided to develop some into an album starting with this one. Needs a few tweaks...

Terribly Vogue (2021)

Another track from the Penelope's Thrill album, "Twilight on Tunnel Road." This song is about the idyllic early life of Lonnie and Chloe, who grow up on adjacent farms on the edge of the Driftless Region in southern Wisconsin. Playing their guitars in an abandoned railroad tunnel for the natural reverb, cruising the eerily deserted streets of Wisconsin towns during a Packers game, fishing in the willow shade with a six-pack cooling in the stream....

I appreciate the opportunity that this time gives me to reflect on my values, ideas, and beliefs. The interactions between the different generations, cultures, environments, and technologies will constantly be an agent of change and catalyst for our further evolution. I wish to be a part of this change with open mindedness, free thinking, and a nonjudgmental attitude. 

Massive thanks to Tophonicus who got this track started, i don't know...maybe a year ago...It requires a lot of patience to work with me, lol. Tophonicus' original track is massive and was instantly inspirational. 

Many more thanks flow out to She's Excited for assisting with the vocal arrangement and adding some pure style to the track. She's Excited is incredible and I love working with her. I bow down to Joerxworx, Styrmonix, and Alex Sinfield for their passionate, skillful, and creative horn blowing contributions. I want to go on tour with all these guys!!!

Finally, big thanks to the one and only Russ Sinfield for his many hours mixing and mastering and actually making this song sound good. I often give him a mess to work with, especially since I only record with my built in computer mic and refuse to use my real mics, lol
