OBFUSCATED, JOHNNY RISES IN PARADISE AGAIN

First song I am posting in 2024!

This is what I wrote in 2013 when I first thought about posting Nothing But (The Sound) but decided to take it down from the cloud short after. 

"Nothing But (The Sound)" is Plastic Inevitable's first song since 2011! Plastic Inevitable is Marty Procaccio, AKA Blankets, working the sound and Sneekie San Salvador tweaking the sound. The recording for this song began in 2011 in the bedroom recording studio of Marty in Santa Clara California using GarageBand and a whole bunch of pedals. The song was completed in 2013 with vocals recorded in Sneekie San Salvador's mobile Toyota recording unit.

Now it is 11 years later...

I am amazed that I found the vocal stems. I had to look though an old hard drive to find them. I did not feel like digging through more old hard drives for the original track stems. Big thanks to Russell for taking the time to mix the vocals and master the track. I told Russell, when I mixed the original instrumental I was listening to a lot of shitgaze bands at the time. 

May you find many gems when you dig into your past.

At the time of the birth of jazz, the role of the guitar was primarily as a rhythm instrument. I enjoyed this recording while remembering the lives of the great guitar players of the time, wondering what it would be like if we translated that atmosphere into a modern style.  I would like you to listen to this track and get an idea of the sound of the "D7 and G7" chords added to the original sound source. Also, learn how to trace the scale when using the "D7 and G7" chords.
First of all, "D7" = "D", so in the Western musical scale, Bm/D pentatonic comes to mind as a scale that can be used there. .
And one more thing: using "D7" directly leads to the use of the blues scale. When the chord is "D7", it is natural to try playing Dm/F pentatonic.
